The weather was absolutely parade perfect this Sunday for Milfords celebration. Thousands of local residents took to the Milford town green to take part in the celebration of Memorial Day. Milford has had a tradition of honoring its veterans since Memorial Day was officially declared a holiday. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who perished while in military service to their country. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War, it was expanded after World War I to include casualties of any war or military action.
The celebration was peppered with American flags and kids excited to be out and about, many waiting to see their friends and relatives pass by on their respective floats.
