Every Thanksgiving morning at 8:15 A.M. people come from all over to participate in the Daytime Lodge No. 144 Masonic Charity. The event is sponsored by my lodge of which I am the proud Master of this year. The event is held in front of the Scottish Rite Festival theater in Stratford, and several people from Milford attend this race since there is no other Turkey Trot in Milford.This year trophies were awarded to a couple of Milford runners, who were among 715 participants.
In the photo depicted to the left 2009 Independent Party Candidate, and race official, John Grant takes a photo of his wife who placed second in the women's races. The money raised from this event will also benefit numerous charities. Last year the Bethel Center in Milford recieved a contribution, as well as several other needy families and organizations.The results to all races are now published at the Hitek website. Hitek is the company contracted to manage and publish all race results. Those results are available on their website by clicking here. Some Notable runners from the Milford races were Renee Rogers Grace Cicero and Joseph Simoncek who had terrific race times.
Anyone interested in registering for this race next year can either arrive at 7:00A.M. Thanksgiving day morning, or contact myself at (203) 647-0380 to obtain a registration form. Pre registering will save runners money and will be open in the month leading up to the race.
