Well their first attempt to slander me failed, now they launched a new nameless shameless editorial in the upcoming Milford Mirror. Since I have no idea who wrote it, because its online, I will take the liberty to answer all the foolish questions that were asked and explain my ethics and logic once again.
To my readers this is the latest confused reporter with a 3rd hand story concocted from the misinformation contrived from heresay, rumor, speculation, and probably a talking Republican or Democrat frog. CLICK HERE FOR EDITORIAL STAFF ARTICLE.
Since this buffoon never called me I will answer his questions. A: There is no difference in my mind between a (R) and a (D) they are two wings on the same dead bird. B: Yes I really do know its pretty close to impossible to win which is why it makes more sense to cross endorse... C: Any Chairman's job is to get his people in office as you are well aware the public gets upset over everything and its not my job to please everyone. D: Commission appointments are paid $0.00 and a full time job at city hall would be I am sure the lowest salary offered in the city probably way less than the legal expenses they pay defending their bad behavior.
Why these fools write this trash is beyond me but clearly they have something to fear. I have no money $0 in my campaign chest and I usually get a few hundred votes what is the outlandish obsession with little old me Rocco Frank? One last point this was not a strategy it was an "offer in compromise" it was all about "sharing" you know the same thing you teach your kids. I hear parents say play nice and share all the time. Apparently sharing is unethical and possibly a crime in Milford.... unless of course you are Jim Richetelli or Winn Smith or something.... I guess it does not work for anyone outside of their sandbox!
I am getting pretty tired of watching my press releases get butchered by unethical and confused reporters. As a reminder the original press release is at the Milford Daily Blog (Right below see the Gnome) and it mentions nothing about job costs that will burden the taxpayers of Milford. Even if we reached an agreement it still would have been the voters who decided, unlike after they are elected and they have no choice in what jobs are created for themselves. In my view its better to know about these deals in advance while the voters still have choice. After the election voters have no choice and these deals are made anyway that bothers me more than being up front transparent and honest.
Independents have not lost their values reporters are giving their political opinions without doing their homework.
Last night was a truly exciting meeting of the Independent Party here in Milford. We have certainly grown very fast. In 2008, just a short year ago we had only two candidates on the ballot , today we have a dozen. We also have a truly incredible, qualified and honest candidate for Mayor Mr. Peter Spalthoff. This is a truly remarkable milestone that deserves our continued support and enthusiasm. It speaks to the current mindset and heartfelt direction our town is embracing. For decades, the the two party paradigm had their opportunity yet their controversial choices has caused them to become severely challenged. With that said, there is no better time to volunteer to make a difference. If you love Milford have been disappointed with our mainstream leadership and are a passionate individual who would like to see real change, we would like to help you put that positive energy to good use in a non-partisan and independent way.

This week my friend Dick and I had the great honor of meeting with State Rep. Arthur O'Neill at his office. This meeting was at the request of Dick who was very impressed with Rep. O'Neill's outlook on the politics of Hartford.
Rep. O'Neill, an attorney, is running un-opposed this year. During our meeting, of which lasted over an hour we discussed the politics and the control over the house in Hartford.
Rep. O'Neill has said that the state employee unions are the bosses up in Hartford and they have used the age old premise of "money for influence" to gain control over the "House." Rep. O'Neill said that they learned "long ago that by controlling the House they could effectively control their job security, and compensation by way of their benefits."
Rep. O'Neill said that they "also learned that filing deadlines for reporters are usually at 11:00P.M so when reporters are in the House they only speak on the floor on matters that the public will not find controversial. The real show starts in the early hours of the morning outside public scrutiny and those votes and bills that are introduced and passed are the ones that hurt taxpayers the most."
O'Neill said that the unions "overwhelmingly endorse Democrats because they are the ones who are most sympathetic to their cause." One idea that I mentioned to O'Neill was the use of the CEP (Citizen Elections Program) as a tool to fund alternate candidates challenging these "special interest" political agents who clandestinely serve the interests, not of the people they allege to represent, but rather their true masters, those dominant groups that hold their "purse."
O'Neill said that crossing the unions in Hartford is a very "risky and dangerous thing to do" citing that Gov. Rowland layed off and fired state employees who responded with an all out offensive to end him as our state governor. O'Neill is not completely convinced that the state labor unions were not involved in accelerating Rowland's demise.
His biggest concern in the state legislature is the Incoming Speaker of the House Donovan, according to a blogger at media attache "Donovan, who works part time as a union organizer for the Congress of Connecticut Community Colleges, is viewed by the business community and most political observers, as being on the left side of the political spectrum." O'Neill agrees and this is of great concern me as well as small businesses and taxpayers who may have to suffer harder to make the lives of state employees less stressful.
When I asked Rep. O'Neil why it is that our state legislature, already marred with the worst record in America, rated dead last as the most undesirable state to conduct business, would entertain leadership that may levy even more taxes? He answered that once the laws are passed, and the regulations are put on the books the unions will have the unrestrained use of the police powers of government to levy and collect taxes. Basically he said when a man comes to your "door with a gun," small businesses will have no alternative but pay up or close down, even if that means auctioning off assets to satisfy the unions taxman.
Without a doubt, and as a small business owner myself already mired with my own difficulties, the last thing I wish for our state is to have its economic engine "small business" completely cease up. In conclusion we both agreed that serious reforms are needed but most importantly elected officials that understand economics must be elected to office in the state legislature.
Last Saturday night I had the honor and privilege of attending the October Fest Celebration at Walnut Beach. The event was held at the Rotary Pavilion and was hosted and organized by the Devon Rotary club here in town.
The event boasted a smorgasbord of great all you can eat food, lots of dancing and German culture and of course a little beer for those who who wished to keep the true custom alive. When I invited a few friends of mine to this event, those not in the know really thought it would be more like a beer drinking madhouse, more for adults and balked at the $40.00 per person cost.
Unswayed I decided to join up with some friends there and debunked the idea that this was some kind of adults only celebration, actually it was quite to the contrary. The event was very much like a musical wedding celebration with kids and adults dancing and joined together at tables with their families and friends.
There was lots of choice of tasty quality food, and anyone who came hungry and wished to have some soda and beer certainly got their money's worth. My friend Lou who had not been to an event like this before said he had "a really good time." Both of us intend on spreading the word, and attending again next year as we were both surprised at how many friends and neighbors we met there.
The Devon Rotary is a wonderful philanthropic organization with such notable members and community friends like Gayle Slossberg. They also have a reputation of caring for Milford, and uses these types of fundraisers to advance our community by improving public spaces. In summary this is a win win celebration and it is worth supporting.
An investment in the Devon Rotary Club is an investment in Milford and I thank all Rotarians, and those who attended, for their dedication and commitment to our town.
The cost of energy still appears to be swelling, and as such many people are being put into situations of having to decide if they should drive less, not eat out, or buy medicine. The choices are difficult but not insurmountable. The most difficult part of our rapidly changing world is the speed at which it is happening. Not years, but rather months and weeks are going by with major changes in the cost of energy.
These times call for every person in town to begin thinking "outside of the box" to make those changes that reduce not only our energy consumption but dramatically change the way we use energy. For many this will mean selling the gas guzzler and purchasing a car that has higher energy efficiency, for others it may mean renting out part of their very large homes, installing energy efficient technologies, or trading down to a more affordable smaller home.
No matter what each person ultimately decides, know that if you are not economically faring well than you must do all that you can to avert a potentially devastating situation. Hard times call for hard solutions, and often struggling to hold on to what you can no longer afford can have more dire consequences than if you reach an early epiphany.
For the first time in my memory a shocking 80% of Americans feel our country is headed in the wrong direction, and we must now take matters into our own hands and not rely on our national leaders to fix the insurmountable problems that have taken decades of bad monetary policy and poor legislation to occur. I am hopeful that these problems will be sorted out at some future point when we elect better leaders. However, I am not hopeful that this will happen fast enough to keep many people out of the "red."
This national rut the country is in should be viewed as our opportunity to reinvent ourselves into being a town that creates new opportunities locally and within our state. This is the time to start using the best tool we have our minds and passion to succeed; consequentially inventing new ways to trade locally and create basic jobs.
One thing I thought about recently is that this must be one of the greatest times to be a provider of energy conservation technologies, and local organic farming. As times change, new opportunities emerge and I challenge everyone here in town to find and embrace those opportunities. Success will bring about emulation, or in my opinion the highest form of flattery.

What could be worse than having $4.00 per gallon gas, soaring foreclosures, bank failures, spikes in natural gas and electric bills, food inflation a stagnant economy, property and state tax increases and massive debt? Perhaps the title give the answer away, but yes it is high taxes!
Last night on Glenn Beck I was "floored" when I discovered an irresponsible plan to continue the taxing and plundering of Americans. Our local taxes already created concern for those on fixed incomes, but the federal taxes are not yet upon us. As it stands the Bush tax cuts are set to expire soon, and if Congress or the President fail to address these new charges to the already economically decimated public we will see even more aggressive public looting of the average Americans bank accounts.

In the past 25 years, this level was only exceeded during the five years from 1996 to 2000. Still, we stand on the verge of a very large tax increase, one that will occur unless the next Congress and president agree to rescind it. Letting the Bush tax cuts expire will drive the personal income tax burden up by 25% – to its highest point relative to GDP in history."

One would think that with all this economic hardship on the table, it would be a "wake up call" to our leaders in Washington. Unfortunately, even with advanced knowledge and strong public criticism our leaders have feverishly and irresponsibly spent America into debt, with this quarters trade deficit even larger than anytime before. Our leaders and especially the Federal reserve system has abused our monetary system through excessive runaway inflation, twisted true and accurate economic figures to void paying true and accurate COLA'S (Cost of Living Adjustments)to retirees and entitlement holders, and over promised and under delivered on our nations health care needs.
Secretary Paulson of the Treasury expressed grave concern over entitlement funding, as did Americas former Chief accountant Walker at the GAO. The message is being loudly reverberated through all levels of Government and still there is no fiscally responsible plan to pull us out of the current recession. Some economists, including former Labor Secretary Robert Reiche indicated that under the current economic conditions there is "a 20% chance" of our recession, becoming a depression. It is not too unbelievably hard to understand how it is that we got into such an economic crisis. This problem began as a result of poor economic policy dating back to Woodrow Wilson who created the Federal Reserve, to Roosevelt outlawing large public gold ownership, to ultimately former Pres. Nixon abolishing the gold standard.
This left America with a monetary system that was out of public control and wide open for abuse. Thanks to our past and present leaders capitulating to the "robber baron bankers" our nations unending and relentless printing and spending addiction, in tandem with countless wars and a 9.5 trillion in debt is now forcing us to "pay the piper."
And "paying the piper" is not only Americas problem, it is a global problem as U.S. consumers spoiled the world with our insatiable desire for cheap foreign goods. Countries producing these goods have built their entire economies based on U.S. consumption and American retailers have become too dependent on manufacturing overseas.
Should Americans stop consuming these cheap products, the backlash of unemployment in China may lead to wars revolutions or overthrows of governments. This makes the U.S. power exuberance of the global financial woes even more grave.
Today, it is becoming increasingly clear that America cannot and will not ever be able to repay the national debt, and that sustained pressure is mounting by foreign economies to implement an alternate currency that the U.S. has no control of. The global consensus is moving toward an ideal that America's comeuppance will be the loss of its currency and ultimately dependence on Non U.S. Central banks to keep order and balance in the global economy.
America appears to be given one last chance to "get its act together" should our nation fail, than America is at risk of coming under the economic monetary control of a foreign central bank. Tough decisions lie ahead, and our leaders are being faced with their "greatest moment of truth."

The Ron Paul Phenomenon is pushing forward in the Presidential Primaries. Ron Paul Scored an impressive second place finish in Nevada, and actually took first place in Louisiana. Although the media reported his finish in LA as a second place finish, the true number after all the delegate votes were counted put Ron Paul at a first place finish.
However this victory can be called a Pyrrhic victory as the continued implications of the chaotic caucus process, and Ron Paul media black out, continues to leave undesirable results and general distrust for the integrity and honesty of the primary system. This system is now marred so bad that courts could be used again, as in the Bush Gore Election, to decide who our next President is. Already there has been a recount in New Hampshire, and a revelation of the criminal record of an official at the Diebold company. The process has now set a record so problematic that we can expect a continuous flow of challenges to the primary results.
With this in mind, I can at least say that there is some good news. Ron Paul continues his rise to awareness when respected market enthusiast Cramer, who hosts the stock market television show Mad Money had Ron Paul on as a guest. Cramer endorsed all the ideas and principles that Ron Paul stands for. Most particularly, his criticism of the Federal Reserve System who acts with complete impunity from the wreckless policies they set for the American economy. Watch the clip as it is the first time I have ever seen Cramer so excited.
The Iowa Caucus is over and the two big emerging first place winners are Mike Huckabee and Barrack Obama. This victory marks a clear message that Celebrity endorsements do matter in politics. Barrack who was endorsed by Oprah Winfrey saw his numbers rise over Hillary Clinton's, and Mike Huckabee, endorsed by Chuck Norris, saw his numbers rise to a stellar Iowa victory.
This may lead the rest of the flock to seek big celebrities to back them up in their quest for the Presidency of the United States. Ron Paul who has no celebrity endorsers that are omnipresent, saw an impressive gain and fifth place finish with a whopping 10% of the vote. Ron Paul was very excited about his 5Th place finish because he topped the Republican hopeful Rudy Giuliani by a wide margin.
The Fox news network promised the top five winners of the Iowa caucus a seat on their televised debate, Ron Paul who finished 5Th and ahead of Rudy Giuliani, was given the boot. Even though he fared much better than Rudi, Rudi will be taking his place in the Fox news debate.
This poor decision has led to a flurry of protest calling the word of "Fox News" worthless, their stock has seen a decline that may be related to their bias agenda, and unfair treatment of public opinion. Bloggers have gone insofar as renaming their network the "faux" news network in response to their selective reporting.
Expected protests are now underway, even from within Fox's own ranks, to stick to their word and honor their "top five" promise and include Ron Paul. Even if you do not support Ron Paul, I urge everyone to take part in complaining over the injustice of the fox network. The Fox network is part of the reason that America has sunken to a level equal to that of Slovakia on the list of press freedom. This is an injustice against all Americans and the First Amendment.
Attorney Tom Cryer has defeated the IRS and wants everyone to hear his message that you do not have to live in fear. These defeats are becoming more common as America's citizens are getting smarter. Smart citizens means smart jurors.
Tom's victory, however, is not a reason to stop paying taxes. People are not that awake yet. A case in point is the New Hampshire five month standoff with Ed and Elaine Brown. They were found guilty of tax evasion (fought and lost) and are now serving several years in prison. See their story blog:

Knowing how to defend yourself is vital in any challenge. Keep in mind that Tom is an attorney and an expert on the U.S. Constitution and associated tax laws. He risked his freedom and his property for our and his quest to prove the IRS lies and deceit. You the unskilled, evader would probably not stand a chance in the current "kangaroo" court system that routinely ignores the Supreme court decisions.
Watch the video and learn that there is hope for any of you that are already in trouble. Also be very suspicious of the advertisements on T.V. that advertise erasing IRS debt. I know of several people who got burned using them. Do your research well if you go that route. This has been a big mystery to me as I could never really explain where all the tax dollars go. I do know that the average employed American is working 4 to 5 months a year for our country. Naturally I assume that this money goes toward our roads bridges, schools infrastructure military and so on.
Then it occurred to me that I pay Real estate taxes to pay for local government and infrastructure improvement. While at the gas pump I realized I am paying again additional gas taxes, as goes for my electric, cable and phone bill. We are taxed again when we purchase items at the store with sales tax, and we are also taxed in ways than I cannot fully understand like through inflation and floating prices due to government policy. The worst so far has been the cost of energy, an increase that many blame on the war and oil. Yet there are many others I cannot even explain like tariffs, excise taxes, inheritance taxes and so on and so on. Without a doubt we are taxed on everything and yet I still do not understand where our income tax dollars go.
For fun I googled the income tax and up came a series of pages calling the income tax a fraud, many bloggers were demanding a fair tax and Aaron Russo a former 1998 Republican candidate for Governor of Nevada (Deceased) made a documentary called "Freedom to Fascism" claiming the income tax is illegal. However preposterous I did a bunch of research and got the most indepth lesson on tax code I could find. While I must admit it is beyond what I or much less the average person can understand it certainly has a great presentation on the tax code whose facts I cannot attest to be true as I am not a tax expert. The presentation is included for your entertainment. I would love feedback from any professionals on tax law but this presentation certainly seemed legit to me.
Much of what I see here makes me inclined to believe that there has been some deception in the pursuit of taxation and when Ron Paul the 2008 Presidential candidate speaks about repealing the 16th amendment to the U.S. Constitution it makes me believe that there is more to this tax thing than I know.
In reading the sixteenth amendment, and then actually understanding it, I realize that it exploits every American citizen and impedes their ability to save money. The 16th Amendment claims that it can take as much money as it wants from you, from what ever money they can find of yours, and then they (Our Government) does not need to give any back to you, your state or community. The IRS tax code goes further in forcing you to submit a tax return that they can use to put you in jail (But the IRS Claims this does not violate the 5th amendment.) The IRS has also claimed the right to search your home, confiscate your property, search your personal effects, and derive information from whatever they wish for purposes of collecting evidence to hold you criminally culpable for failure to pay an alleged debt. (This the IRS claims is not a violation of the 14th Amendment either.)
While it was amazing that such an amendment even exists, I am astounded that it has lasted as long as it has and if "death and taxes" go hand in hand the 16th amendment would surely help deprive every American of its most basic needs of food and shelter should it ever be used in a callous manner, or by a future tyrant government leader.
I do realize from my political science studies in college that allegations have been made by several Presidential administrations that the IRS was misused to gain submission and respect from political dissidents. This suggestion that the IRS could be used to abuse political dissidents, by itself should compell us to get rid of this agency and its associated amendment. It historically has demonstrated itself as a threat to free speech, especially when those execrcizing free speech must be concerned with the retaliation of an audit. With this thought I must insist how wrong I think it is that Americans work so hard to pay a tax that appears to not benefit our communities, or our states in any meaningful way, a tax that becomes our master and enables tyrants to put the fear of big government in the hearts and minds of those who cannot stand do defend against it.
Aaron Russo states in his documentary that all this income tax money goes to pay interest on a national debt, now accruing at an estimated 400 Billion a year. This income tax money, Russo alleges, goes to a quasi government that is very a secretative and private. This private corporation posing as a government agency is the Federal Reserve Bank. While our president appoints the head of the Federal Reserve, the Federal Reserve offer up the candidates for the President to chose.
Personally I think Americans deserve to have their income tax dollars apportioned back to the states for our roads, schools, utilities, and social services to ease the increasing burden of heavy handed taxation and inflation due to our leaders mistakes and refusal to protect American's most basic rights to financially exist. I also believe that the tax code is not transparent and Americans deserve an easy to understand tax code. I also believe that if what the researcher of the above clip be proven factually true, than jurors on tax cases should request a copy of the Tax code to check out the law requiring a person to pay an income tax.
