INDEPENDENT PARTY IN MILFORD CT FORGES AHEAD WITH OFFICIAL TOWN COMITTEE

Milford Independents met last month with kindred spirit. Informal and fruitful discussions took place and a conclusion was made to forge ahead with the implementation and organizing of an official party.

A public gathering is now being called together by Independents Rocco J. Frank Jr., Dick Sieron and Steve Borer who also generously contributed to the expense of the upcoming gathering.

The purpose of the gathering is to agree on a set of by-laws, party leadership, and form an Independent Town Committee. A democratic approach will be used in order to adopt, and agree on a suggested set of by-laws that were provided by Mike Telesca and the CT Independent Party state central.

All people interested in participating in, and forming an Independent Town Committee must be registered with an Independent Party. Recognized qualifying parties are Independent, Milford Independent, Independent American, Independence, and American Independent parties.

The place of assembly will be at the meeting room located at Stonebridge Restaurant on Monday February 22 at 7:00 P.M.

People interested in running for an office must have their name appear on the Voter Registrar list as of Feb. 20, 2010. Party changing prior to the announced date is acceptable as long as a confirmation of party enrollment is provided. Unaffiliated voters may immediately enroll in an Independent party the night of the event. Voter registration forms and a concierge will be available onsite to assist newcomers with their registration.

Most Independents have called this gathering truly exciting and an indication of a monumental shift in the political landscape of Milford. Party insiders, organizers, and friends are looking forward to the balance, foresight, and insightful ideas to be offered by the Milford Independents who are proudly celebrating their third year in politics.

Last night was a truly exciting meeting of the Independent Party here in Milford. We have certainly grown very fast. In 2008, just a short year ago we had only two candidates on the ballot , today we have a dozen. We also have a truly incredible, qualified and honest candidate for Mayor Mr. Peter Spalthoff. This is a truly remarkable milestone that deserves our continued support and enthusiasm. It speaks to the current mindset and heartfelt direction our town is embracing. For decades, the the two party paradigm had their opportunity yet their controversial choices has caused them to become severely challenged. With that said, there is no better time to volunteer to make a difference. If you love Milford have been disappointed with our mainstream leadership and are a passionate individual who would like to see real change, we would like to help you put that positive energy to good use in a non-partisan and independent way.

We have positions still available for Zoning and Planning, the Board of Education, Board of Alderman, and (provided you prevail) even some paid positions. Milford Democrats Bash Richetelli

The Milford Democratic website appears to have more in common with a public "Rant" site targeting our mayor. While in no way to I attest to be for or against Richetelli I do find it odd that the Democrats are so focused on destroying our mayor rather than working with his administration to navigate these trying times.

Their focus appears to be directed at dethroning Richetelli and implementing their own character who undoubtedly will yield similar criticism (as all politicians inevitably do.) It is safe to say that criticism is just a hazard of the job, but be warned that the Democratic party in Milford is deceptive (They never criticize themselves).

Case in point, they have yet to denounce Obama's energy plan that would cause your electric bill to skyrocket. They instead campaigned on the premise that they somehow represent condemnation of UI. The duplicity and double talk became clear when the opportunity came to speak out. The DPUC offered public hearings, Milford's leadership was invited and yet not one single person from our town, besides myself and some members of the Independent party was in attendance.

The point here is not to institute a blame game, call Democrats Communists, and Republicans Fascists but rather allude to the fact that there are way too many stones being thrown in our glass house at the moment. Democrats and their blog need to stop bashing, and begin instituting workable solutions that engage teamwork with our mayor.

These issues certainly can be aired during campaign season when Richetelli is up for election again, but until then their efforts should be directed in using their current elected representatives in town to put their "money where their mouth is" not just point fingers and create the type of animosity that builds the very disdain and division that they do.

This is their website offering the excess accumulation of immature rants against our mayor, whom during his personal crisis they alleged to support. Yet now, in an act of brazen and cowardly hypocrisy "trash" him. Truly distasteful and despicable.

Independent Party Forms In Milford

A recent barrage of news stories has once again proven that even after my candidacy for State Representative the Independent party has not subsided, in fact it looks like it is gaining strength and without added work on my part. This is truly exciting, and today I am urging all those folks who voted for me the nearly 1005 or 10% of the district to visit the the new website and join us for an open house.

Participation and interest is paramount to the success of this fledgling party, and it will be hosted on the celebratory day of former independent Mayor Iovino of Milford. Iovino became world famous when he was elected mayor due to "write in" votes. This was so unusual that Time magazine placed our great city in the spotlight.

The party is hosted by Peter Spalthoff Former RTC chairman who has officially recognized in numerous press releases the need for a new party. Spathoff feels that the independent party should cater to candidates that are disenfranchised with the local Republican and Democratic parties.
