City Expects To Lose State As Tenant

The downtown state courthouse will be sold by the city back to the state for one dollar. This was an agreement that was reached 20 years ago, and the city was well aware of an expiring lease. The courthouse provided the city of Milford with $650,000.00 in rent.

The Milford courthouse was an idea that came about because of local businesses asking for the convenience of a local courthouse. Businesses found it inconvenient to drive to New Haven, the next nearest courthouse to conduct legal affairs. Jim Amann also recently touted that he received $3,000,000.00 "for development and land acquisition for the new Milford Courthouse Annex and parking area."

Parking has been the greatest concern, and largest inconvenience of having the State Courthouse in town. The local chamber of commerce also criticized the municipal complex has being "challenged" because of its lack of parking and said the state will have issues over the lot size and availability of the current parking spaces.

According to Rocco Frank Jr. the Independent candidate for State Rep in the 118Th, "it has been my experience in working for the state that most Courthouses have parking lots with spaces exclusively dedicated to virtually every state employee. In the Bridgeport and Stamford courthouse alone there are nearly 100 spaces each dedicated for Judges, Clerks, Social Workers, and staff. To have the state expect the city of Milford to give up that many spaces would be a hardship for the town."

Frank also said, "that judges also have security concerns and do not feel safe walking in an unattended parking lot back and forth to their cars, they preside on some very intense cases and are often at risk of public retaliation if they make a bad decision. These are things that must be considered in the wake of a change in that very area." Frank also said that he thinks it might be best if the courthouse relocated away from downtown in its entirety, and perhaps re-opened in West Haven or someplace on the Post Road where traffic and parking will not be as big of an issue. The city could then perhaps re-rent the place to a less demanding tenant or use it to save revenue by vacating existing buildings and relocating city departments."

Richetelli said that the "Courthouse deal made good sense 20 years ago, but today he is concerned over the loss in state revenue. He said the city will still pay us money but we can be assured it will be substantially less than the $650,000.00 we have become accustomed to." The final numbers that the city ends up with will mark yet another gap in the 2010 budget to be filled.

Can A School Drop Out Become Governor?

Our Speaker of the House, and my opponent has got to have the biggest "pair" in town. His academic achievement is absolutely baffling and sub-par. Jim Amann also known by many "old timers" in town as the Johnathan Law High School troublemaker created a name for himself the day he set the school on fire.

People who know Jim have characterized him as being a sub par student who had difficulty attaining even the most basic of academic standards. Against the odds, he did graduate from High School even with all the controversy and mischief he was known for there.

He did attend University for a very short time, but for numerous unknown reasons he eventually concluded that college was not "his thing" and decided to quit.

This academic failure on his part raises a very important question on many peoples minds. How can a person who has such a poor educational level, be expected to comprehend in-depth legislation, complex accounting spreadsheets, and even be expected to know how to manage thousands of employees, negotiate contracts based on sound macro-economic principles and be trusted not enslave the population of our state with his mistakes?

Perhaps times were different then, but today most parents (who love their children) would cringe should they discover that their child was a juvenile delinquent whose sole ambition was to quit school. What is more enlightening about our Speaker is that he has a crass, crude vocabulary to match his "sub-par" education.

Amann, as part of his vocabulary, routinely engages others with unprofessional language. These choice words include "Idiot," "HeartOn", "Crush", "Brain-Dead", and many others too inappropriate to mention. Certainly we would not call this progressive under any circumstance. If anything these inappropriate words are an admission of our Speaker's disappointing and unprofessional image as a state legislator.

As if that was not shocking enough, Jim is now getting even more arrogant and grandiose than ever before. Jim, after enraging the the Democrats by ignoring party primary results in the last U.S. Senate race, is demanding that the Democratic Party, the very people he betrayed, support his bid for Governor. Quite sadly, and absent any real choices come 2010, it is entirely possible that CT could have this under educated, insulting, and un-professional man become our next governor.

It is my belief, that should Amann actually win the gubernatorial bid, our state will see his lack of education result in some of the greatest political and economic mistakes ever made in CT. Anyone supporting Amann's bid must be prepared to pay with their own jobs, lives, health and family finances.

Personally I know this to be true based on the fact that his record speaks to his character. We can expect more of the same frustrating, costly trial and error with Amann. We could expect increased potential for corruption, more wasted tax dollars on lavish parties, more opposition and issues with ethics committees, more rude insulting divisive crass language, the introduction and passing of bills that he does not read on fully understand and of gravest concern the constant battle to misappropriate state funds on mundane projects that in debt our state and benefit no one.

Every person in lower Milford needs to band together and send a message this Nov. 2008 that we demand higher standards of both professionalism and academia of our leaders in Hartford. We must speak out with our voice and with a vote for Change. This November vote for Independent leadership not in the clutches of a bickering deceptive party system.

As of today nearly 30% of our state, frustrated with parties, have become registered independents, and yet not one Independent representative exists in Hartford. Voting for me Rocco J. Frank Jr. this Nov. will bring the long overdue Independent voice desperately needed Hartford.

My promise is to never be compromised by energy interests, lobbyists, or any tyrants who come bearing gifts in exchange for favorable policy. Having a great family and loving children, there is nothing more that I desire than to return to you all that you lost. All our children deserve better from our leaders who often are lost to the subversive nature and prevalent corruption that will remain ever present in the annals of government.

Milford Legislators Under Pressure To Save Teachers

Yesterday, I was out dropping my step daughter to baseball practice. While completing my sponsorship donation to the little league, I was approached by a young gentleman and his mother.

The young man was armed with a petition in his hand and was remarkably upset that his favorite teacher at school was told she may not have a job next year. Accompanied by his mother, we discussed his concerns directed at mayor Richetelli. His story was heartfelt, and the amount of money requested small so Terri and I both signed his petition. At this point I felt honored to express my support of our town teachers and I indicated my opinion about the whole unfortunate situation.

To explain my view I will first remind the people of Milford, that our state has found over a Million Dollars for a boardwalk, money for random parks on bridges, expensive clocks, 60+ thousand to move a scaffold for a party at the Capitol, and money for Tax Exempt church schools, but so far nothing from the state to close what I believe to be a one million dollar gap to save the jobs of apx. 200 teachers.

Milford has several representatives, and the Almighty "Speaker Of The House" AKA Gubernatorial candidate in 2010. I suppose our energy in closing this gap should be directed toward the person who has the most authority in our district Speaker Amann. My personal belief is, that other influential House Speakers have been able to accomplish a great deal for their home towns by way of their authority, whereas Amann has fallen embarrassingly short in delivering us the funds.

With all the money spent in town over the last several years you would think that it would be possible to close a simple one Million dollar gap to save 200 jobs. The petitions are now circulating and the heat is on all our elected leaders to save 200 jobs. Should Amann alone fail in his quest this will mark 250 lost jobs at Bic in his district and now 200 more in the school system.

Anyone truly interested in saving the teachers of our town should direct their attention to our legislators as I believe the city has laudably exhausted it self in making cutbacks to the present budget.

Milford's Sea Rising And Razing

Complaints have been coming in from residents living on the waterfront in Milford. The section in question is the area in the vicinity of Silver Sands State Park. The complaints we have received are what to do about shoreline erosion, invasive plant life intrusion, and flooding.

These problems, may be natural, or consequential to Solar and or Global warming. The erosion and coastal problems plaguing New England are well documented. The root cause of these issues are expected to occur in the near future. "Al Gore" has said that as "Glaciers continue to melt sea levels will rise." We, living on the Long Island Sound are no exception to this inconvenient fact.

How long, or to what extent the damage of arctic ice caps melting will have here in CT is unknown. Scientists can say with absolute certainty however, that the sea levels are higher today than they were just 30 years ago. Those living along the water should be aware that the thousands of square miles of water from melted ice has to go somewhere. It just may be your back yard if you live at or below sea level.

The only practical defence to the swell of the sound is eventually going to be what was done in New Orleans. Once the problem becomes so evident that it can no longer be ignored, FEMA, CT or some Federal agency will commission and or fund the Army Corp of Engineers to build Levy's, sea barriers and/or construct higher ground. Some cases may be so difficult that the property may not be salvageable at all.

Flood gates may have to be considered in places, along with pumping stations to rapidly remove water concentrations. System failures should be taken into consideration and back up systems need to be built. Should the problem of flooding be left completely unchecked, the eventual course of nature in its natural meandering of rivers will result in damage caused by natural water erosion. This will be most serious after our first hurricane or basic weather anomaly.

Erosion and water damage cannot be taken lightly and must swiftly be dealt with. Not doing so can have drastic and catastrophic consequences to people and real estate. It is my understanding that a committee has been formed to address these problems. I wish this committee much success in building the required infrastructure to control water damage that may be imminent. Please consider the urgency of this matter with an increased risk of imminent natural disasters.

Milford is getting Ready for the Connecticut Presidential Primary

This post only applies to new and unaffiliated Connecticut voters. The final date for you to register and pick a political party is Thursday Jan. 31st 2008. The procedure is simple, call the Voter Registrars office in your town and request the appropriate forms. These will be either a party affiliation form, or a new voter registration form. The town of Milford, (Our town) can be reached at (203) 783-3240.

Some things to point out that may be odd are the names you will see on the ballot. Dodd, Biden, and Richardson have dropped out of the Presidential race and have done so in a manner that left their names on the Connecticut ballot. FYI THEY ARE NOT RUNNING ANYMORE DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR VOTE.

The date you will vote is going to be Feb. 5Th 2008 at your local precinct. If you do not know your local precinct call the voter registrars and they will tell you where to vote. Remember to bring your ID, a Valid non-expired CT drivers licence, passport or military Id are acceptable.

One last point to mention is that your vote has more power in a primary than the actual election. In the past it has been pointed out to me that as few as several hundred votes decided the victor in our town. For this reason if you are passionate about your candidate loading up your car can make an enormous difference in the outcome of this primary.

As a last point, if anyone out there does not know who they want to vote for, and trust my advice, I plan on voting for Ron Paul. The reason for my choice is because I still believe in the US Constitution and Bill of rights. Of all candidates Ron Paul has the voting record to back this up. Jesse Ventura "Don't Start The Revolution Without Me!"

Former Minnesota Governor Jessee Ventura has come out of his Mexican Siesta and is ready to take part in the rebuilding of America. This is particularly exciting news because Jesse, a former, and very popular WWF wrestler, ex-Navy Seal, and accomplished political leader has always had the ability to energize the despondent and apathetic voters of America.

Jesse mentions in his new book that after winning the gubernatorial election in Minnesota he was met by several CIA operatives in the basement conference room at the capitol building. Their questions were pertaining to how he pulled off such a victory in Minnesota. Their questions revealed interest in his unconventional victory through the mobilization of people who rarely or never voted.

While I personally have not yet read his book it sounds very much like a very exciting, and yet interesting story that will hopefully spark more positive change here in America.

According to Dick Russel whose name also appears on the cover, "Ventura uses the book – part personal memoir, part political rant – to rail against organized religion and the media, detail his brushes with celebrities and suggests that he should be viewed as a possible presidential candidate."

I would highly recommend reading his complete synopsis on the book if you do not plan on purchasing it. Jesse's unconventional leadership has been dubbed "genius" by many in his state while others viewed him as a symbol of how "mad" America has gotten. In either case, no matter what you believe, I always thought Jesse was somewhat of a superstar in the political arena who energized the public in a positive way.

Taxing Citizens on Their Ability to Pay

This is a novel idea that I have, and yet one I believe in strongly, why not tax citizens on their ability to pay rather than confiscate their very land, home, and belongings for the sole purpose of collecting taxes?

To me the most tyrannical laws on the books are those laws that allow for our government to confiscate and tax property. Taxes in America began as "voluntary Compliance" a term that still exists to this day in our IRS tax code. However "Voluntary" is not all that you would expect it to mean.

"Voluntary Compliance" is merely a misuse of the English language as there is nothing voluntary about having the FED's padlock your business, confiscate your home, and peruse through your personal belongings. "Voluntary Compliance" means nothing when local town's place liens against your home, and eventually end up owning it or force you off your land because you are choosing food and medicine ahead of your taxes.

In a great democratic republic no one should be afraid of their government, let alone have that fear cause you stress and harm as you lay in the cold, hungry, and sick. The very thought of of a person having to chose paying the government ahead of their own pursuit of happiness, once an inalienable right written in the constitution, is unjust un-American and inhumane.

There is no greater conviction of mine that our labor is ours, and our land should remain ours and the only true way to maintain our own personal property ahead of the illusion of ownership, is to assign tax debt as exactly that debt. Debt to be paid not out of confiscation, intimidation, or fear tactics, but rather sound collection practices, based on our individual ability to pay such a debt without harm to ourselves.

Today's post is a reminder of the position I stated in my agenda, as to why I oppose any practice that renders or inhibits individual property rights. Quite simply American's should have the most basic rights of food, shelter, and medicine protected without fear of any loss thereof due to tax debt and or poverty.

Amann Dream's He is Governor LOL!

The December 6Th edition of the Milford Weekly was quite amusing, as Rep. Amann is featured smirking on the front page and aspiring to become our state Governor. This delusion of grandeur was a shock, especially since I thought his "crush" comment was about as arrogant, grandiose and over the top as he could get.

Some of the locals I spoke with in town, have been chuckling about Mr. Amann's unconventional way's of leadership. Bafoon style leadership that separate him from the masses. I have heard all kinds of stories about Mr. Amann from how he plans on fixing up our Johnathan Law High School to how he started a fire there as a kid.

The amount of diverging opinions about our overzealous, and yet very generous (with your CT tax dollars) leader is almost too much to think about. While the last election for mayor was somewhat of a political carnival, with guest appearances from Joe Lieberman, Ned Lamont, and a host of hypocritical endorsements I certainly promise not to subject the already disenfranchised voters of the 118th with anymore carnival like political theatrics.

Mr. Amann having run unopposed in the last election has not even a clue what people think of him. It has been four long years since his last contested election, and I imagine that the sprawling growth of Milford combined with its aggregate cyclical turnover has left him quite exposed to a new breed of voters.

If these voters are likened to the ones I read about on the web, Mr. Amann may be in for an upset come the 2008 election. I can can imagine nothing more embarrassing than to announce you will "crush" any "idiot" who runs against you, then announce your bid for Governor and lose your election to a Computer Repairman who recently arrived to Milford from Westport.

Mr. Amann if you are reading this, than you must know how my loss for words must amuse you. Should that smirk I always see on your face be indicative of your signature as our representative, than I look forward to 2008 where I can seriously bring to the table my Independent non partisan leadership. Smirk free leadership that will address our community problems free from the grandiosity, tyrannical remarks and delusions of grandeur.

Amann's 2007 Legislative Update

Today, in my mailbox arrived the Jim Amann 2007 legislative update. This was a very exciting document to read because for certain I expected to read about all the wonderful things that Jim had in store for us here in Milford.

Eagerly I read the entire document from cover to cover and at first glance I saw all these wonderful things that Jim touted about. They all sounded absolutely wonderful until I came to think how much of Jim's hard work in 2007 has made my life and the life of the CT people I know any better. But the bigger question remains how well has Jim addressed the issues of Milford's residents, the issues that were so passionately debated in the last election for mayor?

If we are to use that standard than absolutely nothing in his 2007 legislative update has any bearing on your life. He has not addressed the state law resulting in unfair property assessments, he has not touched the issue pertaining to your outrageous electric bill, he has not mentioned a word about Broadwater, a massive Liquefied natural gas facility underway off our coast. Jim did not address the 14.5 billion state debt crisis, nor did he touch on crime and early parole of violent felons due to prison construction and overcrowding. Jim has not addressed state tax burdens, or our state energy conservation in lieu of the "peak Oil" crisis, and most disconcerting he has not mentioned a word about why a massive carcinogenic mercury polluting power plant is reopening in the heart of our district. A plant that is using a brand new power grid the taxpayers built with no remittance of a savings to us.

So how did Jim represent us? To begin lets address each point in his legislative update and see how any of this helps you or your family.

Point 1: Keeping Our Kids Safe, Megan's Law, Jessica's Law. I would of voted in favor of these laws but certainly I would not tout it as an accomplishment to my district. These laws are aimed at so few predators that it is of little concern to the main issues mentioned above in our district. Most everyone in Milford is a law abiding citizen, and I pray we never have the problems of Bridgeport, New Haven or Big cities in America.

Point 2: Improvements to Husky Health care. Point one is pay more money out to Dr.'s and hospitals. (I suppose Jim feels they charge too little.) Point 2 is newborn enrollment for the first 4 months of life. Point 3 is an outreach program to find more qualified residents. (How is this is going to be funded is my main question.)

But to recap the challenges facing Husky, Jim failed to address the big issues, first the Federal Wellcare raid in Fla. has put a major portion of the Husky program at risk, and sent Gov. Rell scrambling for solutions, but more importantly the Bush administration has been cutting money to the SCHIP program that includes Husky. Looks like Jim did manage to expand a financially troubled program without being able to first procure the lost federal funds, let alone the additional funds his touted expansion will require. As the funds dry up faster, expect Dr's. to avoid Husky a like a "midnight drunk" making any SCHIP card holders have a more unpleasant experience than they already know.

Point 3: Teachers Retirement: Bonds were used to honor a contract that was due the teachers in the first place. (I assume that this problem resulted from financially misplaced Lottery proceeds that he has not mentioned.) Quite sadly this mistake now marks 25 years of your children's future debt, but Amann touts a savings of 2.8 Billion! Make no mistake here, this is not an achievement but rather a case of "pay up" or "get sued."

More curious, what is the actual amount due if this 2.6 billion is just the savings? To begin on this point I will say again that absolutely CT needs to honor its contracts to teachers, but a 2.8 Billion dollar savings just sounds like "Voodoo Economics to me." That translates to $100,000 per each retired teacher. That is just the underfunded savings part for 28,040 retired teachers in this state. This does not add up, unless the cost of retiring a teacher in CT is upward of $1,000,000.00 per teacher. In that case the underfunded pension and mismanaged lottery money should be the least of Amann's concerns.

Point 4: Investments for Milford: This part is just aggregate to what I said earlier about Jim and his less than sincere use of appropriations. My previous post (highlighted) deals with this issue very eloquently, and to see yet another person brandishing a giant state welfare check just proves the Robin Hood mentality of our Speaker who buys your vote with other peoples tax money. See my previous post: Amann and Welfare Bonding One other point not mentioned in Jim's Money for Milford section is his $140,000.00 check to St. Mary's Catholic School. I guess churches being exempt from property taxes is not enough, Jim has to give our state tax dollars to fund controversy engaging those who believe in a separation of Church and State. Meanwhile CT, cannot meet its own legal obligations ordered by a Supreme Court judge in the Sheff v. Oneill legal loss.

Point 5: Devon Revitalization: This project has been a long ongoing project, it has the potential of being really good if handled properly, however the Devon revitalization committee is comprised of religious clergy and politicos, not a single architect, designer or engineer yet this panel continues to tout "smart growth." "Smart Growth" is an idea originated by architect "Peter Caltrope" in the 1970's that has become quite controversial. Some communities have rejected "Smart Growth" with the opinion that it has turned into an ideological cult movement aimed at circumventing the zoning and planning laws. Laws we are all forced to follow while municipalities enjoy more freedom and in some cases broadened powers of eminent domain.

I believe that Amann or any politician for that matter is not qualified or educated enough to be on a panel that is responsible for urban planning and design. He is neither an Architect nor an engineer but rather an ideological politician who endorsed a candidate Kerry Rowland who called the Devon revitalization a "Waste," further demonstrating his marred judgement. The 7 plus million in my view is mis-prioritized. One point in particular is $3,000,000.00 to expand our local government complex of which I respectfully object to, as I believe in shrinking government and keeping it out of our lives, not making it bigger.

Point 6: Money for Milford Projects: All the same points apply here as in Point 4. This is just more State Welfare at the expense of bonding debt. Essentially it represents your children's future being mortgaged for special interests many of which do not even pay tax. This model is identical to the Federal Debt model of spending without regard to consequence of debt. The USA is 9.5 Trillion in debt and CT 14.5 Billion in debt. This failed at the federal level and will fail even worse at the state level.

Point 7: Hollywood East, this about the only other thing we can agree on, besides honoring a state teachers contract. Hollywood east brings money to local businesses, and develops community pride. This is a small step in the right direction, however, it was not a principal focal point of Milford's Residents during the last Mayoral election. Although, I agree having big screen actors run around our city is exciting, in other ways it can be challenging, as these film crews create traffic jams, close down our streets and offer a modicum of financial relief to local businesses. This will become even more exciting, should Hollywood East actually invest commercially in Devon, of which, to my knowledge, they have not.

In conclusion what is important to note here is that the brochure that has been sent out to you, has missed all of the vital issues that we in town raised during the Kerri, Richetelli mayoral race. His legislative report is more indicative of Mr. Amann's disconnect from the voice of the people he claims to represent. One last major point in particular is the high Cost of energy and his poor choices. To explain, Jim opposed the State's Attorney's advice regarding the "Windfall Profits Tax." Instead he Introduced H.B. 7432 returning UI lost profits, and stopped the Gas tax plan making our gasoline even more expensive.

Jim has sent us all a brochure reminding us of how disconnected he is from our true social needs. While I personally enjoyed all the photos of Jim with our children, I will not be so naive as to think that is somehow representation. Our children deserve more than a proponent of industrial mercury polluters, like UI, who have put us all at risk for grave diseases, more especially children.

Amann Wants to "Buy Your Vote!"

This is a quote taken from the movie Brewster's Millions, the movie is very apropos in lieu of the billions in bonding. There is one exception however, that the Millions Brewster was squandering was his inheritance, this made the movie rather funny. Amann on the other hand is squandering millions of your and my money, not even money that we have but rather money he has charged to our tax payer "credit cards."


Amann has yet to miss a photo opportunity to hand out a fat check. Just today in the CT Post he is brandishing a big fat check for a catholic school, last month he was charging up the largest boardwalk in CT, and the limelight surrounding his spending spree continues.

Meanwhile he swears on his latest Youtube video that all this money secured through bonding was because of Jody Rell that he has no control over the money issued, and yet he is going from charity to charity handing out money like a "drunken sailor."

Just yesterday, an old timer, and Korean War Veteran from Devon came in to my headquarters and said that there was a time when Milford really benefited from Amann's "liberal" spending approach to government. He, like many others in his circle of friends believe that such an approach is no longer good for Milford or CT.

The true issues of bonding are being neglected, and to take today's CT Post article to heart one must read on about the crisis in our prisons, a crisis that can only be resolved by more bonding debt. This debt however, is already critical due to special pet projects that Amann has so deliberately mis-prioritized to buy your vote. Continued spending leaves CT Citizens at risk for a repeat of horrible crimes commited in Cheshire by early parolees.

Additionally, an increasingly desperate situation is culminating in the next few years because of "Peak Oil," already now being debated by legislators in Hartford and presented on CT T.V. This coming energy crisis is serious, and addressing the problem is urgent. Unattainably high energy prices, are expectet to leave our schools hotter in the summer, colder in the winter, and stress out every tax payer with unconscionably high property taxes in a time of high forclosures. Mr. Amann's "Robin Hood" era will soon come to an end.

Once this occurs, the truth shall prevail about his true popularity when he is unable to use the state credit card to "Buy Your Votes."

Milford Smart Growth abuses now in the form of a Boardwalk.

Having lived in New Jersey for several years I have come to enjoy the boardwalk. By the estimates put forth in the CT Post article it will be the largest boardwalk in the state.

My first inclination about this boardwalk was glee! Than of course I remembered I do not live near the water. While I love to hike I also have 2 small dogs that would really enjoy a long walk between beaches.

Boardwalks are awesome especially when you are young; they are great places for the youth to congregate at night. I have not seen the official plan but usually after a few misdeeds and random crimes the local homeowners will probably start to scream for lights as if that will improve things. It will drive up the city’s cost of maintaining and policing the boardwalk for certain. It may even warrant hiring more police!

The cost of lighting is amazing, and if these lights come from UI the city will be leasing them for life in addition to an outrageous electric bill. This boardwalk is an ill fated attempt that ultimately results in abuse in the name of "Smart Growth." If this boardwalk was done by the “defacto” autocratic smart growth rules, my guess is that no one who lives on the waterfront was given the courtesy of a phone call or a respectful opportunity to object to it in a zoning court.

This boardwalk will be running right next to people’s property and will have an unknown effect on the type of element it will attract. Hopefully this boardwalk, now that we are apparently stuck with it, will not attract the same elements that the West Haven Boardwalk has attracted.

My last visit to that boardwalk, included a vicious dog fight, Drunks littering, Ill placed Bocce courts, and a circus of people skating, jogging and parading in every direction.

Thank God I do not live on the waterfront, because at my age the pristine view from my back window would not include a public "Smart Growth" pandemonium... unless of course I was 16 again and on vacation at Long Branch N.J. than it might be a blast.

Once again Amann shame on you for redesigning peoples back yards for your "Smart Growth Agenda." What gives you the right to redesign peoples back yards? With all of your spending challenges I find it amazing that you were even able to bilk the state of CT for this ridiculous project. Perhaps you would rather spend this money helping our needy state schools and reconsider.

Jim Amann has a Growing Problem.

Jim Amann has been really screwing up with the public and their opinion of him. Just about every blog board is critical of his leadership and in many cases goes as far as saying that he illegally uses his office for his personal financial gain with a charity he is connected to. Most recently is a new emerging website entitled www.dumpjimamann.com. (Not affiliated with www.rfrank118.com.)

But that aside I continue to distrust Amann across the board because of his support for Lieberman. Amann helped Lieberman get Re-Elected after his party dumped him, and if America starts WW3 due to the Work of Lieberman, then I believe Jim Amann should be held accountable for all the future lives of young men and women that needlessly will be lost. Vote him out of office!

The last thing Connecticut needs right now is a “Lieber-Loving tax and Spend Liberal.” While I resent Jims wish to bilk the governor out of “Millions of dollars” to fix our bridges, he has not mentioned a single word about holding those who wreck our infrastructure accountable, and I know that that is a major part of this budget.

I challenge the Speaker to propose a $10 or $20 Tax or Toll for “Big Rig” tractor trailer trucks, the overweight offenders, the 12 ton speeders, and the implementation of proper drainage systems and freight weight standards.

Lets not forget that the last bridge explosion in CT was in Black Rock, another one exploded on Rt 7 not too long ago, both were trucks full of Oil that created infernos and stopped traffic. Should these offenders be our problem? The passenger car drivers. I think not!

Amann should be suggesting real solutions rather than once again stealing the “limelight” after a Bridge collapses on T.V. and you Mr. Amann, if your reading this, should be ashamed of your “Telegislator” style! You should be ashamed that you have no semblence of a plan other than to be a “Tax and Spend” liberal.

This is the thinking that is resulting in the annual meltdown in Hartford. We keep allocating millions to departments and projects that are neither properly managed, financialy resourceful or efficient. I believe that not one cent should be appropriated to any single person or department that is devoid of a conservative plan to get their job done, and done without B.S. cost overuns and budget problems. I believe waste should be eliminated.

With that said I also believe the Speaker needs to force Connecticut to stand up for itself and take a position demanding that our Federal Income Tax Dollars be apportioned back to us as our U.S. Constitution requires of the Federal Government. As it stands the Federal Government annually takes 4 months of CT Citizens income in tax. None of it comes back to us or our state. Not a cent for our Schools, Roads, our Emergency services, or a single social program. Aaron Russo, featured on youtube will eloquently explain this to any “would be doubters,” but for now, I think we all need to be Mad as Hell over the cronyism, and racketeering going on in our government. These latest budget problems, and its associated “Pork” not excepted.
