Pets Upset Over Foreclosures

Well they did not actually say that to me directly, but being the son of a Veterinarian, and having a brother who is also a Veterinarian, we have all witnessed first hand what happens to pets after a foreclosure.

Some people, especially elderly people end up going Section 8, or a very polite way to say "welfare." The places in which take old people in are not interested in their pets and those pets often get abandoned. This is also true for many people who become renters, their pets must also go because finding a pet friendly landlord is usually a challenge.

These dogs, and cats end up in many places, some get dropped off at the humane society some end up going to the city animal shelter and other more lucky ones get adopted out. The most unfortunate ones get put to sleep or end up abused or left to the wild.

Today's post is to remind all of you who may be considering a pet to visit your local animal shelter and turn the life of an unfortunate animal around. One of the greatest benefits of owning a pet is that they deter criminals from breaking into your home and give lots of love to their owners.

This holiday season, think beyond the traditional gift giving, and perhaps make an abandoned kitten or puppy a gift for the family. You will truly feel rewarded for helping one of Gods many creatures have a dignified and happy life.

To adopt a pet please contact the Connecticut Humane Society by clicking HERE The CHS also accepts donations of canned pet food, and has a community service program for school age children who wish to help animals.

Another Thief Another Business Robbed

The low life criminal in the above photo is yet another pathetic instance of businesses being under assault. If there ever has been a time to get night clerks armed and trained to deter these criminals, now is the time.

The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was not intended to let the criminals have guns, and leave law abiding store owners feeling that guns are a terrible thing. Businesses should have a right to defend their own property and the sooner these thugs see the gun pointed back at them the sooner they will get the message.

Police, once again, have released another video and more photos from two recent Devon robberies. They are again, asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.

Both businesses robbed this week are, the New Star China Restaurant and the Krauser's Market. Both were conveniently robbed near closing time by a suspect described as white, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin to medium build.

The restaurant, is located at 548 Naugatuck Ave., and was robbed Oct. 27, the convenience store was robbed two days later.

In both holdups, the robber displayed a small, black handgun, police said. Investigators believe that the two robberies may have been committed by the same person.

Once again anyone with information about either case is asked to call the Milford police detective division at 203-877-1465

Lieberman's DC Office Results In 9 Protestors Being Arrested

This morning at 9:15A.M. a group of protestors requested a meeting with Senator Lieberman and refused to leave until they were given an opportunity to meet with him. Senator Lieberman's staff told them that they would not be given a meeting with the Senator. Then they were directed to leave or face being arrested. Senator Lieberman's staff subsequently called the police, and 9 activists were arrested after being physically removed from the building.

According to a website Myleftnutmeg "Some members of the group went to a meeting of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (which Senator Lieberman chairs) to stage a protest in the presence of Senator Lieberman. They were asked to leave and did so without incident."

The group was also upset with Senator Lieberman's threat last week that he will filibuster any healthcare bill that contains a public option.

On record being arrested are two Uconn students Brittney Florio, and John Mohrbacher, an alumnus. The activists were representing a Healthcare organization called "Mobilization for Health Care For All."

Explaining their actions, a student activist Jason Ortiz said: "We staged a sit-in at Senator Lieberman's office this morning in order to ask him to return the $65,000 campaign donation that he recently received from the Aetna health insurance corporation and to ask him to represent the people of Connecticut, not the insurance companies."

Gold America's & Milford's New Money

Everywhere you look, Television ads, newspaper ads, signs in front of our local hotels and meeting halls the signs are the same... "We buy Gold." The new gold rush is nothing new but lately it is looking better than ever as an investment redeemable in dollars, or for that matter any currency anywhere in the world.

Since 1913 Gold has steadily increased and proved itself as a stable investment. Gold once $22.00 per ounce is today $1,100.00 per ounce. Compare that to our paper currency and we have a backward relationship. What Two Cents bought in 1913 you need a Dollar for today, or a 98% decrease in value due to inflation.

Had we kept our Gold standard, meaning that our money was redeemable in Gold or Silver there would have been no inflation, because an ounce of gold would have purchased the same amount today as it did back then.

Unfortunately for those "banksters" and con men who wanted a "free ride" the science of turning lead into gold (Alchemists) failed badly. So the next best thing happened, Nixon ditched the gold standard and our money was backed by an unconstitutional law "legal tender" and a the power of "big government guns."

However, the "bankster" party is soon coming to an abrupt end, because as the world increasingly recognizes that America has virtually no viable industry left and is on the edge of insolvency. The Treasury keeps selling U.S. debt at record levels.

If that alone is not alarming enough the Fed also enacted a policy of "Quantitative Easing" or in other words we print money to buy debt (AKA T-Bills) no one wants. The U.S. rarely buys any other nations debt, and currently our Government cannot function without its printing press. David Walker of the GAO recently quit because he was "frustrated that Congress was not prepared to make the hard choices that had to be made" and the U.S. Federal Reserve is fiercely resisting an audit.

Recently they hired Enron's former P.R. firm to lobby Congress not to audit the Fed. Two bills H.R. 1207, and S.B. 604 were introduced in congress to complete the audit. Both bills have bipartisan support, but unfortunately neither Dodd nor Lieberman have Co-sponsored the bill despite the numerous End The Fed Rallies, Tea Parties and a recent poll showing that a large majority of American's want the GAO audit.

The corporatocracy, and billionaire traitor George Soros said the Dollar needs to suffer an orderly collapse, he would like to see our currency managed by a globalist World Bank. If the Corporate Plutocracy succeeds in this objective we may soon see the United States "on its knees" begging for help from the Globalist IMF.

Some may think that Americas wealth and Gold is at Fort Knox, and that America has lots of Gold. This was my initial premise and I wrote to Christopher Shays a former Congressmen from my old town.

Shay's sent me a disturbing letter, he said that "according to Edmund C. Moy, Director of The United States Mint, the United States Gold Reserves stated in 31 U.S.C. 5116 and 5117 (statutory Rates), which are $42.22 per fine troy ounce of Gold." This is the rate that legally must be used to report the value of Gold.

This is a real alarming report, because according to Ron Paul the Federal Reserve, a private consortium of "unknown" banks and owners lists the Gold on their balance sheet essentially making it the property of these private corporations.

The statutory rate is merely an indication of when the Gold reserves were last audited. It is fair to say that the audit had to be around the time of the above listed value of $42.22 this most likely occurred during the period of Woodrow Wilson, the same man who was put into office by the banking elite. Wilson also entered the U.S. into WWI, Gave us the I.R.S. and the unconstitutional Federal Reserve Bank.

Wilson later wrote in regret "I am a most Unhappy Man because I unwittingly ruined my country." Within the next two years as newer and more aggressive globalist attacks are directed at the U.S., such as the latest meeting of the G20, we will see increased activity in the transfer of worthless U.S. dollars into hard assets.

These assets may include tangible items like Agriculture, Oil, Natural Resources, Land, Precious Metals and Real Estate. Essentially anything that could be deemed a viable and legitimate non-depreciating asset. The little guy will get inflation in return as the immutable laws of supply and demand compete for value based asset acquisition.

When the U.S. Dollar tanks, financial experts such as Peter Schiff from Euro Pacific Capital, a contributor to CNBC, and a contender for the Republican Nomination for U.S Senate, says that the "Collapse will not be orderly, and when it does happen it will be more like a death spiral. The bankers at the G20 know this so they are trying to devise a way to save themselves first."

The news today at Reuters once again bears many of those same articles about the U.S. Dollar entering a dark period and gold continuing to reach new highs. Those who are able to protect themselves from this impending calamity will be able to retire comfortably, those who do not will soon find out how fast they can be deprived of their life savings.

Alex Jones, a Texas radio host said this about the Plutocracy: "They laugh at our Dollar, they know its nothing more than paper and not wealth, most of what they retain is Gold and similar non depreciating assets."

Hopefully after reading what I wrote here you will take the time to validate that what I am saying is in fact true. Hopefully those of you who still are in denial will take some meaningful action in seeking out advice and consult with your own financial experts. Get more than one opinion, and by all means be ready to do the required research to support yourself.

We are merely one terrorist act away from this nightmare immediately going into full force

Milford Republicans Sweep Landslide Victory

The Milford Republicans enjoyed a lopsided victory this election. Most onlookers at the Spalthoff Headquarters watched in awe as the numbers for Republicans across scores of towns showed the same ominous result.

This years election appears to be part "deux" of the nationally driven pendulum swing of the Republican and Democrat paradigm. For those who remember "Obamamania" last year it was a stellar victory for anyone with a "D" next to their name this year its an "R."

The election results are rather disconcerting, not because the people got what they voted for or because we rewarded "bad behavior" but because our municipalities appear to be paying a price for what happens on the national level. This years election Results were certainly great news for the Republicans, but I am certain that many of the people who voted, had no idea about how many good people in Milford city councils were lost.

This type of paradigm shift is what got us the Solitaire Playing state representative that the Republican's were so critical of, certainly we hope this is not again the type of leadership borne of this type of "propaganda" or "blind voting" we got this year. Certainly I am expecting enormous mistakes will be made by our new inexperienced leaders and certainly I am expecting conflict and controversy over the unchecked and aggressive policies of the new Richetelli gang.

There was a time I believed that all politics were local, but today I am not so sure the voters of Milford agree with me. This election once again made it clear that Fox News, Glenn Beck and MSNBC are calling the shots in our small city.

While I knew that the voters were upset over the broader national agenda, in no way did I ever believe that a third choice, the Independent Party, or the Democratic Party, (who had great candidates,) would be so unilaterally rejected as viable alternative choices.

Milford's future is certainly going to be challenged, the "faux pas/tromp do lei" economy will soon unravel and taxation/inflation/unemployment is going to climb. The city, state, and the Federal Government are expected to continue in its relentless and aggressive pursuit of funding from the dying middle class.

Many of you used the national agenda as the basis for your local vote, and did so with the hope of change. I am sorry to say that this only allowed your anger over Obama result in the loss of some real Democrat patriots who were great board members looking out for your interests.

Having been to almost every debate, and spent the last several months getting to know all the city candidates in the running, I learned that their is some real new inexperienced leadership who will be serving our mayor and not you. This is not to say that there are'nt any good people in the overall list of elected newcomers, but by no means did Milford elect the "best of the best" or the most competent and talented people. You will soon see this when the Mayor asks for something and his newly elected band of servants "jumps through hoops" for him while injuring you.

"The Richetelli team," as the mayor puts it will be implemented in full force and will have a majority on every city board. The city is now committed to $3,000,000.00 in pay, bonuses, perks, health care, and future benefits to our mayor. The only obsticle now is us the taxpayers and his skill in decieving his followers with the new Republican ideology.

Many people in town love Jim, and have touted his sincerity and charm as a feeling of safety. Now the good people of Milford are nesting in the "mouth of the alligator." Expect higher unemployment from city positions and a systemic attack on our teachers unions, schools and municipal jobs.

My focus over the next few years is going to be an important fight to save the Milford School system from the "Republican Cutting Block." More than ever all those involved in this years elections are going to have to stay active and voice their concerns to our local city councils and our zoning boards if we are to keep this approaching "train wreck" from becoming a local disaster. One thing that the Republican Party and Democratic Party has made clear, is that they stick together and relinquish their authority to their own. However, both sides, never miss an opportunity to increase their pensions, vote themselves raises and improve the quaility of their health care at your cost.

Next time you see someone on the road in need of emergency services and a ten year old ambulance arrives late, is in disrepair, and you later hear that that person died on the way to the hospital, do not forget "who packed their parachute" and pray its not you. Welcome to the new Milford!

Time To Get Out And Vote

The early morning voting in the Milford election was weak, but nonetheless the day is not yet over. If you have not voted, please do go out and vote. Milford cannot prosper without people caring enough about our democratic process enough to do so.

Milford's Going To The Birds

Last week on my way to work, I drove past city hall and by the lovely town pond that bears the scenic picturesque town dam. In the backdrop we have the gold dome over city hall and one of the most elegant and artistic looking bridges on the ponds green.

This is a stop made by many romantics who like to take beautiful photos with their friends and families, in many cases after a wedding or special event. However, the pond is also visited by Geese who have made it their home. These geese are not as nice as the people who are enjoying the view. They leave bird droppings, block traffic, and are on the DEP list of migratory birds being studied for the Avian Flu.

The goose problem does not only stop at the green, many waterfront developments like our Great Rivers Golf Course, and Caswell Cove have experienced the travelling water foul.

Locally no one seems to have a real clue on what to do about the goose issue, so earlier today I called the Audobon Society who directed me to the Bureau of Wildlife Management at the State Department of Environmental Protection.

Mr. Chris Vann took my call and had a wealth of knowledge in dealing with the bird issue not just in our town but in many other towns state wide. The first thing that Mr. Vann said is that "no one is permitted to harm geese outside of hunting season or without a valid permit from the Federal Wildlife Service."

Recommendations in the past for controlling geese populations has been a procedure called Addling. Addling is simply the oiling of the Geese Eggs. The oil prevents the eggs from coming to term and less geese are born. Other ways of controlling Geese is through the regular hunting season. In our area geese can be hunted on approved state lands from Oct 1st through October 27Th and again November 13Th through December 3rd. Hunters must posses a valid hunting permit and learn the guidelines of safety toward people and nearby homes.

The state also mentioned that a Depredation Permit can be obtained for people who have qualifying properties. This permit can be obtained with the assistance of the DEP and the FWS also must be notified so they may keep records on public actions toward the mitigation of Waterfowl.

These birds are also getting some unwelcome attention thanks to the Swine Flu, because they are on the list of bird being studied by the DEP and the Federal Government for their propensity to carry viruses.

Canadian Geese are known carriers of Salmonella, and the H5N1 Avian Influenza. However, anyone thinking about engaging in drastic actions against these birds should first read the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of which regulates the rights of birds and land owners.

There are also many people in town who like to go feed the geese, and also engage in selfless acts of mercy to aid those birds with broken wings, or like injuries. The Audubon Societies will help and the closest Audubon society to assist in the rehabilitation of wildlife is in Ansonia. The Ansonia Nature Center can be reached at (203) 736-1053.
