Whole Foods Helps Fight Hunger In Milford
Recently I read about this hunger issue in the Milford Mirror on page 16A. My wife, brought the article in the paper to my attention and we were both saddened and struck that hunger could even exist in our wonderful community.Thankfully for for those looking for a meal, and the generosity of the newly opened Whole Foods Market and the Bethel Center, our friends will be given an opportunity to eat. The program was originally devised by WHY, (World Hunger Year) who is dedicated to providing nutritious meals to 49 Million hungry Americans and their 17 Million children.
This figure has been increasing alarmingly with the economic downturn and the lingering jobless recession. Hunger in America appears to have thus far peaked with one in six people going to bed hungry each night. The photo above is that of Tent City, or Obama's new Hooverviles, aptly named after Herbert Hoover and the Great Depression. California is one of three states where unemployment peaked above 12%. Tent cities have sprung up all over America, and the need to pull our country together is more urgent than ever.
To combat this problem Whole foods, last January 6Th, gave 5% of its stores daily profits to charity. In our community the charity that addresses these types of hunger issues is the Bethel Center who also has been a recipient of my personal charitable offerings of Free computers for disadvantage children, and monetary donations from the Turkey Trot fundraiser that I sponsor with Daytime Lodge in Stratford each year.
The Bethel Center is always on the look out for altruistic people who are willing to contribute to their cause. To offer your help, please call (212) 629-8850.

Pop's Restaurant Feeds The Disadvantaged On Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving the poor and elderly have a place to go thanks to the generosity of Pop's Restaurant on New Haven Ave. in Milford. Each year, on Thanksgiving day, Pop's serves 80-90 homeless and elderly people for free. This year they expect the same amount of attendees at their establishment. The kitchen opens from 12-3 P.M. and a holiday meal will be served to all needy walkins.
Pop's is the only establishment that I found helping the disadvantaged and the elderly in this way. The Milford Bethel center indicated that their service was one of a kind in Milford with no other known establishments helping the poor with a free onsite meal.
There are several other charities that exist, who will be delivering meals. The Boy Scouts also raised money to help people this holiday season.
Today's post is a heartfelt thanks to Independent party supporter, and community benefactor Pop's restaurant on New Haven Ave. for their kindness toward those in need this holiday season. Please show your support to Pop's for their generosity.

Pets Upset Over Foreclosures
Well they did not actually say that to me directly, but being the son of a Veterinarian, and having a brother who is also a Veterinarian, we have all witnessed first hand what happens to pets after a foreclosure. Some people, especially elderly people end up going Section 8, or a very polite way to say "welfare." The places in which take old people in are not interested in their pets and those pets often get abandoned. This is also true for many people who become renters, their pets must also go because finding a pet friendly landlord is usually a challenge.
These dogs, and cats end up in many places, some get dropped off at the humane society some end up going to the city animal shelter and other more lucky ones get adopted out. The most unfortunate ones get put to sleep or end up abused or left to the wild.
Today's post is to remind all of you who may be considering a pet to visit your local animal shelter and turn the life of an unfortunate animal around. One of the greatest benefits of owning a pet is that they deter criminals from breaking into your home and give lots of love to their owners.
This holiday season, think beyond the traditional gift giving, and perhaps make an abandoned kitten or puppy a gift for the family. You will truly feel rewarded for helping one of Gods many creatures have a dignified and happy life.
To adopt a pet please contact the Connecticut Humane Society by clicking HERE The CHS also accepts donations of canned pet food, and has a community service program for school age children who wish to help animals.

Banning Organic Farming & Regulating Home Gardening, HR 875 & S 425

Banning Organic Farming & Regulating Home Gardening, HR 875 & S 425 (Mar. 13, 2009)
These bills need to be examined closely and scrutinized by the public. The public must act quickly, as they are attempting to ram these bills through without debate or discussion. The wording in too many provisions of these bills are simply too VAGUE and open the door WIDE for some government bureaucrat on the state of federal level to decide what farmers can or cannot use to grow food, and how that food will be handled--all under the benign guise of "protecting" the public. Where have we heard that before?
The government has NO BUSINESS interfering or attempting to control farming methodologies, or what choices farmers make for seed or fertilizer or any other aspect of farming or distribution. Period.
This bill was introduced in the House last year by Connecticut democrat Rosa L. DeLauro, but it was stalled in committee and went no further. This year, her pals in Big Agriculture got her to front the bill again, but this time they got an additional 29 NWO sell-outs to join her in sponsorship (curiously, the House sponsorship adds up to exactly 30 sell-outs, the same number of silver coins collected by Judas Iscariot when he betrayed Christ to the Romans)
Rosa is big on the government taking control of everything in your life. She worked tirelessly to stump for illegal alien Barry Soetoro to be fraudulently elected president and then jumped right in with both feet to vote for the "stimulus" taxpayer rip-off "package". She now hopes to get universal health care passed this time around as well, since Rockefeller's Chosen Son is now there to front the socialist/communist propaganda party line for him, right along with Billary.

Rosa has a long history of "helping" people. She has worked for and with Illuminated sell-out Christopher Dodd for many years and essentially learned that to snooker the pulbic into accepting communism dressed up as government sponsored legislation, you have to repeatedly drive home the Tavistock-selling buzz words of the "need" for "protection" and "caring" and "concern" for the "disadvantaged" and the "underprivledged" who have been "disenfranchised" from the American Dream and similar stock sound-byte propaganda phrases.
She learned well from Dodd, who you may remember was very passionate on television in selling the 850 billion Wall Street Bailout "package" to the American public with his ardent "concern" that AIG or Fannie May or Freddie MAC, etc. etc., are TOO BIG and TOO IMPORTANT to the 'credit markets' and the " health" of the American economy to be allowed to go under, blah, blah, blah.
Having lived in Connecticut for a time, I know how much of a haven it is for special money interests like the insurance or banking industires, but also for communist ideology which thrive in Illuminated watering holes like Yale University, the home of Skull & Bones, located in Rosa's hometown of New Haven, Connecticut.
Rosa, like her colleagues who sponsored this outrage and affront to the liberty of the American people, sorely needs to face a new challenge in her life; a Recall. Perhaps some interested patriots reading this missive might want to see what's involved in getting one off the ground.

Pay special attention to
* Section 3 which is the definitions portion of the bill-read in it’s entirety.
* section 103, 206 and 207- read in its entirety.
What it Does:
* Legally binds state agriculture departments to enforce federal guidelines effectively taking away the states power to do anything other than being food police for the federal government.
* Effectively criminalizes organic farming, but doesn’t actually use the word 'organic.'
* Affects anyone growing food, even if they are not selling it but consuming it.
* Affects anyone producing meat of any kind including wild game.
* Legislation is so broad based that every aspect of growing or producing food can be made illegal. There are no specifics, which is bizarre considering how long the legislation is.
* Section 103 is almost entirely about the administrative aspect of the legislation. It will allow the appointing of officials from the factory farming corporations and lobbyists and classify them as experts and allow them to determine and interpret the legislation. Who do you think they are going to side with?
* Section 206 defines what will be considered a 'food production facility' and what will be enforced upon all food production facilities. The wording is so broad based that a backyard gardener could be fined and more.
* Section 207 requires that the state’s Agriculture department act as the food police and enforce the federal requirements. This takes away the states power and is in violation of the 10th amendment.

MAJOR WORLDWIDE HEALTH WARNING!!!
Baxter Pharmaceutical Claimed they accidently released live H5N1 bird flu in human Flu vaccines. This error, criticized as impossible by world medical experts, is now a serious and grave risk to people everywhere.
The virus was introduced in a manner that renders it capabable of not only infecting people, but potentially mutating into an airborne form that can be transmitted to others the same way the seasonal flu does.
This error was discovered by a Baxter subcontractor who conducted tests of the vaccine on live animals who all died. After this discovery he notified his superiors, who discovered the live H5N1 virus in the vaccine. The story then made it to the highest levels of the pharmaceudical industry, and eventually made the press.
This is a potentially fatal issue, please do your research on how to best be prepared in the event of an outbreak. Former President Bush has warned Americans on numerous occassions that the propensity for such an outbreak is real. Please refer to the following LINK for more information.
As a final note it is also important to mention that Baxter manufactures the Bird Flu Vaccine (Celvapan), a worldwide outbreak, of the Avian Flu would translate to Billions of dollars in profit for the Baxter Corp.

Predatory Banks Go Agressive On Fees

With the credit markets dried up, and losses to banks mounting to the tune of 9000 foreclosures a day, banks are getting more aggressive. One of the ways I personally experienced banks raising money is on their "fee income." These fees come in the form of Late Fees, Unavailable Funds Fees, Over Draft Fees, Service Fees, Etc.. These banks could also care less that you are unemployed, on welfare, or just lost your home.
No fee, however is more profitable than the predatory Bank Fee, and employees at at branches are being trained in public combat. When the public complains about a Fee often bank tellers have a system of keeping their money down pat, it's called "No, No, and No" again and again to any refund of their predatory fees.
My personal experience at my own bank had to do with a check that was bounced to me, due to an honest mistake by a friend of mine. The unmentioned bank I no longer deal with, has a policy of maximizing their predatory fees. They do so by clearing the bigger checks first and then ratcheting up lots of overdraft fees on all the smaller checks that did not make it.
Sadly the photo above is true I ended up paying an exorbitant amount for a simple pizza. That aside, keep in mind that banks expect us all to be perfect. They know this is impossible, so they take advantage of our mistakes, they embarrass you, and then keep even more of your money. Peoples, bank keep in mind, recently lost many of their customers personal information and you got nothing for their mistake.
Anyone who feels their bank has been abusive does have some recourse by contacting the Banking Commissioner in Hartford. If your bank is desperate for money and has begun criminal and unethical fee practices call the Banking Commissioner and file a complaint.

UI Intends To Seek Another Rate Increase
United Illuminating just had its conference call to its investors this week. The electric that they sold showed yet another double digit increase in their profits, however UI's CEO Mr Torgensen complained that they sold too little electric and was disappointed so many people were "turning off the lights." He also was not happy with the level of uncollected receivables and told the shareholders that he planned on recouping their lost profits through yet another Decoupling Bill.Mr. Torgensen and crew will be up in Hartford lobbying the DPUC, who regulates the cost of electric, with the written Decoupling request to help restore their, yet again lost profits. Last time such a bill was introduced, no one in the legislature even read it, actually it was introduced one hour before it was voted on. That bill was H.B. 7432, introduced earlier last year.
Rep. Megna of New haven opposed that bill citing that concessions were in order as energy was increasing faster than people could afford to pay. Should UI succeed in this latest decoupling bill it may push our electric bill has high as 100% in eight years.
To hear the entire UI Conference call scroll to the end of the audio clip listed below.

U.S. Dollar Decline "Red Alert."
The news on the U.S. Dollar today is daunting, Israel our largest Mideast ally demanded its loan payments be paid to them in Euro's. This marks yet another nation now added to the scores of nations joining the list. Nations that are losing faith in the U.S. Dollar.
This announcement has arrived shortly after the U.S. "Greenback" hit new record lows breaking a record of a $1.43 gainst the the Euro. Many central banks world wide have already and continue to diversify from the U.S. dollar.
The news today that triggered a "Red Alert" is a a dire warning from Rodrigo Rato, head of the International Monetary Fund who told the board of governors that the Dollar may suffer a rapid fall. This is due to the lack of assets backing up the dollar. Over the last five years the dollar has declined by over 50% in value.
The following video depicts a recent violent protest in washington against the IMF. While Fox is quick to discredit the protesters, keep in mind the points mentioned here.
What does this mean to you? This is my thought, as many of us know that most of the cheap products we enjoy are manufactured overseas. These products are expected to rise sharply in value creating inflation. This is is of serious concern because many Americans will be struggling with additional increases in Food and energy. This will make it more expensive to feed your family and keep warm this winter. To make this statement even more sad and frustrating "Bush" just massively cut the energy assistance program this winter leaving more American poor families children and elderly in the cold.
The dollar trap, will lead many people in town to begin overextending their credit to pay these increases. We always hope that our customers and employers will adjust prices and salaries to compensate for this inflation. Many employers will not be able to keep up and this will further expand our personal debt bubbles.
It is very important that in the coming year that we all not fall into the Debt trap. If that means taking more modest vacations, eating out less, and putting off the purchase of a more expensive home, renovation, or reduce utility usage, than do so.
Most big banks anticipating this coming dilemma have formed a superfund to share in the losses and many big banks are offering people struggling with debt a second chance.
Today I spoke with Countrywide officials who publicly announced that the have set aside money to finance a program to help people with Adjustable Rate Mortgages switch to fixed mortgages. They also have a Hope program for those who are already a few months behind on their home payments. They are eager to work with anyone who is at risk of losing their home.
This is particularly good news and I encourage anyone and everyone who can to take advantage of Countrywide's offer. There is one catch, however, if you have a fixed rate mortgage, or a high prepayment penalty, they will not be able to help you. The help they offer is generous but only able to help people partially. If you need to act act quickly.

Frank Offers Seniors Real Help not just Rhetoric.
This article today is in response to the several seniors who have been visiting my ComputerFox store on New Haven ave. To remind folks of our last Press Release offering Free Computers to single Families with children receiving public assistance, we have now extended that help to seniors struggling with the cost of Computers.
While we do not yet have a volunteer to go on site and assist our seniors in setting up E-Mail accounts and IM accounts; To keep seniors in touch with their families, we are actively looking. Anybody who has the time and would be interested in offering their services in this capacity should contact me at (203) 647-0380.
ComputerFox has graciously agreed, through its very successful computer recycling programs, to now extend its offerings of free or severely discounted computers to seniors in assisted living conditions. We have already forwarded an E-Mail contacting the Senior Wish Society, and have informed them of our offer of which we would hope they would announce or distribute in their next bulletin.
We would also encourage readers of this blog to visit their website, and think charitably this upcoming holiday season. The website is: http://www.seniorwishsociety.org/contact.htm.
Look at the wish list and remember that many of our seniors are struggling with little money this holiday season and would be heartfelt to see that you or someone cares enough to think of them.
