More Banks On The Green

Soon going downtown Milford will be a Bankers Paradise, this is because the old Harrison's Hardware store is being "eyed" by TD Bank North for their latest branch. They made their presentation before Zoning and Planning recently and of course, the very reaction from the board was "not good."

Most board members do not want the downtown Milford Landscape to be overwhelmed by banks. Should TD Bank prevail in its quest for Harrison's Hardware that would mark a Fifth large and imposing Bank in an area of about 100 Yards.

Currently, Downtown has a full size, Peoples, Webster, Bank of America, Milford Bank, and a Hudson United Bank. Then of course we have the added Mortgage Bankers to include a former Countrywide, (Now another BofA) and Personas Mortgage Co. I suppose a TD Bank added to the mix would certainly be hyping the dysfunctional landscape of Attorney's and Court Houses.

While some might be impervious to these economic anomalies, others are thankfully more aware and are wondering when the new creed for the Milford Business Association will read "Welcome to Downton Milford, a great place to Eat, Bank, & Sue Someone." I say this with sardonic humor, but all one has to do is look at who owns all the most valuable real estate on the Green and the answer is obvious. The type of downtown we build, and the kinds of businesses we nurture and encourage is a reflection on our community. If everyone loved Bankers and Lawyers we would be in great shape, however we try to cover that malaise with our Great Food establishments of which are packed with bankers and lawyers buying lunch with forclosure money and overdraft fees.

The first thing an outside visitor to Milford does is drive up and down the Town Green, and the nature of the businesses that reside on the Green are usually the first impression someone gets of our community. Restaurants are certainly nice but all the Banks and Legal Malaise are surely a disappointment and something to be concerned about.

Milford's Al Dente Gets A Parking Deal

The Planning and Zoning Board has approved a “shared parking” proposal in Devon, which will allow Al Dente’s Restaurant the use of five municipal spaces in a lot the eatery’s owners sold to the Devon Revitalization Committee earlier this year.

Mayor James L. Richetelli Jr. said the lease agreement between the city and Joseph Arcudi, Christina D’Archangelo and Daniel Bagley, the owners of Al Dente, was needed to ensure the eatery was still in compliance with city parking requirements.

Earlier this year, the Devon Revitalization Commission purchased a lot at 120 Bridgeport Ave. from the restaurant owners in an effort to create much-needed parking opportunities downtown. The committee paid $160,000 in state money for the land, which was expected to provide 12 new spaces.

Richetelli said as part of the continuing streetscape improvements in Devon, especially along Naugatuck Avenue, the city needed an easement through Al Dente’s, and the restaurant ended up losing five spaces. As a result, the city agreed to lease the restaurant five of the newly created municipal spaces.

“It will be a non-exclusive use. If someone wants to park and go somewhere else, they can,” Richetelli said. “It’s very common downtown, the idea of shared parking.”

Richetelli said the municipal lot now is serving as a staging area for the streetscape upgrades along Naugatuck Avenue. He said the lot has been re-engineered and will accommodate 17 vehicles, instead of 12. Richetelli said he hopes the lot will be available for public use in the fall.

The zoning board voted unanimously to approve the lease agreement.

PZB Vice Chairwoman Kim Rose, D-3, said she did not vote because she was acting as the board’s chairman for the evening, but she personally does not believe in shared parking.

“I know that’s not popular,” Rose said.

Rose said sacrificing five municipal spots would adversely affect nearby businesses. But PZB member Kevin Liddy, R-4, said he thinks the deal “shows the city works well with private enterprise for a win-win situation.”

Rosa Delauro Introduces Bill To Destroy The Family Farm

It is also noteworthy that Rosa Delauro's husband is a Monsanto executive. The destruction of the family farm will reap big rewards for monsanto. Please Call Rosa Delauro and tell her you object to this bill.

Representative Jim Himes disagrees on at least one point and said that to his knowledge: "Rosa's husband does not currently work for Monsanto, however he will vote against Delauro's bill believing it to infact be problematic to organic and family farmers and not getting the benefits he believes are advertised."

Please contact Rosa Delauro's Connecticut office directly at (203) 562-3718.

Is Rosa Delauro's Marriage a Conflict of Interest?

Our Congresswoman Rosa Delauro is introducing a bill (Banning Organic Farming & Regulating Home Gardening, HR 875 & S 425 (Mar. 13, 2009))
that works well with Codex Alimentarius (If you do not know what that is please google it because it becomes law the end of this year and it will be your new food.)

Delauro is responsible for protecting the public health, however, her husband a Monsanto Foods executive is emblematic of the concerns raised & explained in the below video. Monsanto's program equates to the equivalent of a U.S. malnutrition agenda, while Delauro is attacking farmers from the back by discouraging organic farming not under U.N. or Codex Control, Monsanto is profiteering from the front end with new Genetically altered Demon Seeds. Regardless of how you add this up it will ultimately result is serious consequences for human health.

Anyone who personally knows Rosa Delauro should ask her to explain herself on these issues, and ask why we should trust a company like Monsanto, or the U.N. rules under Codex Alimentarius, furthermore does she support "handing over" our farmers rights to the globalists and their agenda.

Banning Organic Farming & Regulating Home Gardening, HR 875 & S 425

Banning Organic Farming & Regulating Home Gardening, HR 875 & S 425 (Mar. 13, 2009)

These bills need to be examined closely and scrutinized by the public. The public must act quickly, as they are attempting to ram these bills through without debate or discussion. The wording in too many provisions of these bills are simply too VAGUE and open the door WIDE for some government bureaucrat on the state of federal level to decide what farmers can or cannot use to grow food, and how that food will be handled--all under the benign guise of "protecting" the public. Where have we heard that before?

The government has NO BUSINESS interfering or attempting to control farming methodologies, or what choices farmers make for seed or fertilizer or any other aspect of farming or distribution. Period.

This bill was introduced in the House last year by Connecticut democrat Rosa L. DeLauro, but it was stalled in committee and went no further. This year, her pals in Big Agriculture got her to front the bill again, but this time they got an additional 29 NWO sell-outs to join her in sponsorship (curiously, the House sponsorship adds up to exactly 30 sell-outs, the same number of silver coins collected by Judas Iscariot when he betrayed Christ to the Romans)

Rosa is big on the government taking control of everything in your life. She worked tirelessly to stump for illegal alien Barry Soetoro to be fraudulently elected president and then jumped right in with both feet to vote for the "stimulus" taxpayer rip-off "package". She now hopes to get universal health care passed this time around as well, since Rockefeller's Chosen Son is now there to front the socialist/communist propaganda party line for him, right along with Billary.

Rosa has a long history of "helping" people. She has worked for and with Illuminated sell-out Christopher Dodd for many years and essentially learned that to snooker the pulbic into accepting communism dressed up as government sponsored legislation, you have to repeatedly drive home the Tavistock-selling buzz words of the "need" for "protection" and "caring" and "concern" for the "disadvantaged" and the "underprivledged" who have been "disenfranchised" from the American Dream and similar stock sound-byte propaganda phrases.

She learned well from Dodd, who you may remember was very passionate on television in selling the 850 billion Wall Street Bailout "package" to the American public with his ardent "concern" that AIG or Fannie May or Freddie MAC, etc. etc., are TOO BIG and TOO IMPORTANT to the 'credit markets' and the " health" of the American economy to be allowed to go under, blah, blah, blah.

Having lived in Connecticut for a time, I know how much of a haven it is for special money interests like the insurance or banking industires, but also for communist ideology which thrive in Illuminated watering holes like Yale University, the home of Skull & Bones, located in Rosa's hometown of New Haven, Connecticut.

Rosa, like her colleagues who sponsored this outrage and affront to the liberty of the American people, sorely needs to face a new challenge in her life; a Recall. Perhaps some interested patriots reading this missive might want to see what's involved in getting one off the ground.

HR 875: SHORT TITLE.—This Act may be cited as the "Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009"

Full text version pdf of HR 875: http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=111_cong_bills&docid=f:h875ih.txt.pdf

http://www.agreenerindiana.com/forum/topics/bill-to-ban-organic-farming

Pay special attention to

* Section 3 which is the definitions portion of the bill-read in it’s entirety.
* section 103, 206 and 207- read in its entirety.

What it Does:

* Legally binds state agriculture departments to enforce federal guidelines effectively taking away the states power to do anything other than being food police for the federal government.
* Effectively criminalizes organic farming, but doesn’t actually use the word 'organic.'
* Affects anyone growing food, even if they are not selling it but consuming it.
* Affects anyone producing meat of any kind including wild game.
* Legislation is so broad based that every aspect of growing or producing food can be made illegal. There are no specifics, which is bizarre considering how long the legislation is.
* Section 103 is almost entirely about the administrative aspect of the legislation. It will allow the appointing of officials from the factory farming corporations and lobbyists and classify them as experts and allow them to determine and interpret the legislation. Who do you think they are going to side with?
* Section 206 defines what will be considered a 'food production facility' and what will be enforced upon all food production facilities. The wording is so broad based that a backyard gardener could be fined and more.
* Section 207 requires that the state’s Agriculture department act as the food police and enforce the federal requirements. This takes away the states power and is in violation of the 10th amendment.

Dollar Plunging Faster Than Thought Possible

The U.S. Dollar is plunging faster than I imagined. The downward spiral has got even Mexican migrant workers upset as they send their money home only to find out it is worth less and less.

Experts are indicating today on the GCN network, or the "Freedom Radio" link on the main page of this site, that anyone with large deposits of dollar based assets need to begin their diversification of their assets into hard assets, such as Gold, Silver, Real Estate, or things of value that the Federal Reserve cannot create out of thin air.

Some time ago I have written that Real Estate is one of the best safeguards a person can have at the moment, anyone with large debt should consider refinancing at lower interest rates and fixing those rates for as long as possible. If you are able to pay your debt my position has been to not worry so much about fixed interest debt in lieu of accelerated inflation. As the dollar becomes worth less it is my bet that debt will become cheaper and more devalued. On the other hand, fixed assets in real estate will eventually grow as construction costs skyrocket. This scenario, in my opinion will come back to benefit everyone who avoids foreclosure. It may take several years for the market to equalize and get the economy back on track but when it does you hopefully will be happy you held on to your home.

One major concern at the moment for me is energy and food inflation, both of which are married. As energy goes up so does food prices, money may not keep up with inflation. As an American Italian one thing I learned is the importance of storing food during hard times. Should the U.S. Dollar drop another 20% it may be a good idea to get a jump on food prices and pack a pantry for yourself and family.

On a final note, I am not a financial advisor, always consult your personal expert when making major financial decisions. My situation may be unique and may not directly apply to you. This is my opinion only.
