Milford's Obsession With Trash

Milford is fighting to get our trash out of town and into a Museum. The epic battle continues in trying to rid our city of Recycling Inc. but we love trash so much our leaders were happy to fund Stratford's Trash museum. But what about the trash in city hall how do we get rid of them? Well they got us Single stream Recycling and cut back our bulk trash pickups twice in the last few years. Today the Milford Democrats also criticized a donation to Stratford's trash museum and I must agree this was a pretty "shaky" thing to do or even have on our local agenda.

Without commenting on the merits of this trash obsession in town, I would like to focus on at least one important point, that Recycling Inc. is our trash problem, and the other one an "out of town garbage museum" well that has nothing to do with Milford. Perhaps we can ask Stratford to put up a vote to keep our library open... "lets not hold our breath"; Considering they will not even fund their own museum I suppose we can see how irresponsible the "Drunken Sailors" at city hall have become.

Our city is expected to lay off two Jonathan law Security guards, 25 city employees, and the board of education claims they need to lay off an undisclosed amount of people. But what about the "Executives" and top echelon in Milford's leadership team? They get raises and waste even more money! Jim Richetelli gets a $138,000.00 a year job, Phil Russel gets to stay on and get paid on the side because Richetelli has no idea what he is doing and needs his help. Russel also may end up like our $180,000 a year police chief and get his pension in addition to his consulting contract.

When I get letters from citizens who are concerned about "Double dipping and Triple dipping" I have to ask where the heck are the police, the FBI and those enacted to defend and enforce the corruption that landed our city with an estimated $275M in debt. Milford is slowly looking more and more like Bell California.  I would really like to know how can we get attention to the issue of public theft.

While everyone is out and about from the political parties claiming they got you a nice "Tax Decrease" tell them "Bull S$#T" you "charged our tax decrease to the "Credit card" at "Interest." That amounts to "kicking the can down the road" for a bigger deferred tax increase. Throw the bums off your porch, do not vote for them and do not read their warped "spin, twists and lies." That is what attorneys do best "Bull S%$t" to their advantage not yours.  You want trash? Go ahead and re-elect a D or an R this year because "we need another Real-estate killing, tax & spend, stinky Oscar the grouch in city hall."

Independents Sign 11,000 Voters And Announce 30 Candidates

Independent Party Submits 11,000 Signatures for Statewide Slate, Announces 30 Candidates for Legislative Offices

Gubernatorial candidate Tom Marsh and other leaders of the Independent Party will hold a press conference on Tuesday, July 20 at 3pm on the north steps of the State Capitol Building in Hartford, Connecticut to announce the submission of 11,000 signatures to place a statewide slate of candidates on the ballot in the general election in November 2010. 7,500 validated signatures of Connecticut registered voters are required by state law.

Mike Telesca, State Agent for The Independent Party and Waterbury Town Chairman will introduce Governor candidate Tom Marsh and his running mate, Lt. Governor candidate Cicero Booker Jr., and two candidates seeking the nomination of the Independent Party for U.S. Senate, Dr. John Mertens and Warren Mosler, will also speak along with other candidates in attendance.

Some Comments On Political Races

Today I took some time to contemplate on whether or not I wanted to reveal some of my most important tools in politics, and for those who do not know me I am a local business owner here in Milford with a penchant for local and state issues. I am also one of the key architects of the local and state Independent Party.

The reason for the revelation of one my most trusted tools, is due to the constant chatter I hear about who has a chance to win "this race" and "that race." While I sit back in amusement, I always turn to the single thing that has never let me down, the very tools of science.

While I will not talk about what I know locally, I will talk about the mathematics of outcomes itself. This science is known to the Political Science community as Game Theory. Game Theory was developed by Dr. Mesquite of New York University some years ago and uses an elaborate mathematical theory with human beings as variables.

The reason we know that Game Theory works, is because after the early results were published by Dr. Mesquite he got a visit from our friends at the Central Intelligence Agency. A few short years ago they declassified their results, and impressively "Game Theory" accurately predicted the outcome of elections 91% of the time.

The equation is arcane, and for some time esoteric and limited only to those trained in its use. While I will not subject myself to a steady stream of controversy and hate mail by declaring what I know, I will mention that there is more hype than reality in the deluge of propaganda out there in Milford.

Should any of you wish to really know what is going on and what is going to happen in the upcoming elections all I will say is that there are going to be some surprises come November. For now, and without teaching you all of the applications of a complex scientific formula, I will instead ask that you follow Dr. Mesquite and listen to his lectures for a clearer picture of our future.

First and foremost find your voting center by going to the bottom of this page or click THIS LINK. Know where to go.

Next bring your ID. Acceptable forms of ID are valid non expired drivers licences, military, or passport id's, or certified state ID's. If you have none of these go to the Parson's complex voter registrar and obtain a voter ID card.

Once this is sorted out, on Tuesday November 3rd. go to your designated voting location between the hours of 6:00am till 7:30pm . If you are unfamiliar with the Diabold system watch the video above explaining its use.

As a final note, and to make sure your vote counted look at the numerical counter on the Diebold machine. (The counter will be located on the front panel and look like the odometer on your car.) Notice the number before you put your card in, then look again to be certain the number counted up.

Dodd's "No Banker Left Behind" May Leave Him Reeling For Votes

Chris Dodd is certainly a desperate man these days, aside from his slumping approval rating and sleuth of corrupt banking friends, Dodd is got the Tea Party Patriots protesting just about every event he goes to.

His candidacy was also complicated with health issues he developed, but after a protracted prostate surgery Dodd says he will march on in good health. For a short while things seemed to improve for Dodd, than Film Maker Michael Moore came along and created a new documentary called "Capitalism A Love Story." Moore characterized Dodd as being "bought and paid for" by America's big banks, with Countrywide and Goldman Sachs at the root of the nations monetary problems and the banking committee that he chairs.

Last week I saw the Moore Documentary in Bridgeport because the Milford Theater only ran it for three weeks. The showings were late at night and eventually the manager of the theater said that "due to a lack of interest in the film" it was "removed" from the theater. For this reason I traveled to the Fairfield Theater and saw it there.

This movie made it clear that there is more than one Bernie Madoff out there, there are bankers far more dangerous and in higher places than we can imagine. Instead of Ponzi schemes, we have the Federal Reserve hiding under the legitimacy of the color of law. They are printing money and issuing debt deep into the future and its costing us Trillions of Dollars. Incredibly no one seems to have any oversight or accountability for the Federal Reserve and its renegade practices.

Congress has become very frustrated with the Federal Reserve, who since 1913 inflated the dollar down to about Two Cents. Amazing? Yes what Two Cents bought in 1913 you need a Dollar for today. The Fed was created on the very premise that our undisciplined Congress would destroy our currency value, and therefore the expertise of the worlds bankers and their connections were important to secure Capitalism and avert a catastrophe.

Rep. Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders, introduced two bills to audit the Federal Reserve. Paul's Bill H.R. 1207 has 305 Co Sponsors or more than two thirds of the U.S. House of Representatives. S 604 introduced by Saunders is the companion Bill to H.R. 1207. The Senate has a paltry 31 Senators in favor of it and the Goldman Sachs boys (lobbyists) running the Federal Reserve recently hired Enron's (former) P.R. firm to pressure congress and the President not to audit the Fed.

There is a clear indication of fear from the Wall Street lobbyists in charge of the Federal Reserve. These people know that once the "curtain comes down" and the GAO audits the Fed and reports those numbers to Congress that the greatest swindle in history will be unveiled.

Congress knows this to be true, but Senators like Joe Lieberman and Chris Dodd continue to attack the banks on penny practices while blocking the legislation that will take down the Wall Street "Bernie Madoff's" that are swindling the taxpayers of America.

For those of you who are not certain how any of this affects you, well think again because inflation affects everybody. Many people today are forced to make due with less because as prices rise, wages usually do not keep up and unemployment and worker productivity also increases. This means workers, that still have jobs, must work harder for less money. Ron Paul called inflation the "cruelest form of taxation" because it is done without your consent, your knowledge, or a vote from Congress.

The solutions to these problems are not easy ones, they are not simple, but an audit of the Fed is the Right step because it will expose all those criminals in the banking system that have looted the U.S. Treasury through Theft, Racketeering, Cronyism, and corrupt business practices.

Ron Paul, a former Libertarian, and Sen Saunders a Socialist are both a far cry from the two party gang that occupies D.C. and yet these individuals are the ones pushing to end the looting in D.C. Why any of our congressional leaders would object to supporting the bill that roots out corruption in Washington is a mystery to me, but what it does imply is that many of our Congressional leaders are buying into the ruse that an audit will somehow interfere with the "neutrality and independence" of the Fed.

Many fear that the Federal Reserve is bailing out nations all across the world, on the backs of our children's and grandchildren's futures. While many are carrying their legacy by leaving a marred future on our kids backs. The next generation will have to deal with ever present crumbling cities that increasingly represent the failure of our nation. Moore represents Flint Michigan, and the tent cities in California as examples, and Bernake admits to giving other nations our tax dollars by way of central and global banks.

In conclusion to this post today, I would highly recommend not supporting or voting for any Senator that does not support S 604 The Federal Reserve Sunshine Act. Sadly to say that both of our Senators in Connecticut do not support it. I personally contacted Chris Dodd's office numerous times and basically got ignored and shut out on this very question time and again. I spoke with his media rep, and several of his staffers no one would give me an answer or the courtesy of an explanation.

Chris Dodd alleges he is taking a hard line against banks and their corrupt practices, but in reality he is just hurting small regional banks. Dodd is collaborating a policy that will consolidate these small banks into one of nine major banks. Essentially these banks will be shuttered and then only be permitted to function under the control of the Goldman Sachs boys at the Federal Reserve.

Anyone who understands this issue will tell you how important it is to have transparency in government, and Dodd appears to be against all transparency at the Federal Reserve. A banker once said in a documentary I saw many years ago, is that all it takes to hijack America is to control 51 people. The President and 50 Senators. Our forefathers said "that banking institutions are more dangerous than standing armies."

As it stands it looks like America's Plutocracy is comprised of perhaps 70 people at the moment. Sadly the people of this nation are still not yet awake enough to use the power we have left... "one vote one person."

Know the truth, stay informed, and use your "one vote" to vote the Plutocracy out. All we have left, is this "our one vote" and it counts just as much as that of a Billionaire so use it wisely.

More Republican Drama Fowler Withdraws From The Ballot

The following quote is from the Connecticut Post and Demonstrates that the marred image of the Republican Party continues with Scandals, withdrawals, place keepers, and a desperation to push unwilling candidates on the ballot in the final hours of election deadlines.

The report given to the CT post states that "

Jack Fowler has also indicated that he will withdraw from the race. Working in New York, he doesn't feel he would be able to give the position the time that would be necessary." Fowler, the publisher of The National Review, is a former Board of Aldermen majority leader and a former chairman of the city's Republican Party.

"I was nominated at the convention as a place-keeper after someone who had agreed to run withdrew a few days prior," Fowler said Monday. "My place-keeper status was well-known at the convention. It was also well known amongst Democrats. I would have agreed to run and campaign if no one else had come forward. For a while it looked very much like that was going to be the case," he said.

Fowlers, escape from the malaise of the Republican Party was probably smart given Rhorhig, who was recently investigated, for criminal activity.

The Democrats have been very silent on the Decline of the Republican Party, they, I believe, are saddened by their unfortunate plight and dwindling support base. Some time ago Richard Smith was asked about the Independent Party and he welcomed it, and has been supportive of the Independent Party.

From a Political Strategy, and in the words of their Mayoral Candidate the Independent Party represents two Titan Republicans to them in a "Face Off." So why would they not support the Independent Party.

The Democrats, I believe, are banking on the party schism, drawing sufficient votes from Richetelli to sink his Re-election bid and I believe there is a good chance this will happen.

Tim Chaucer Initiates A Democratic Primary

For the first time in recent memory there will be a primary to determine who will become the Democratic nominee for mayor.

Timothy Chaucer said he has begun circulating petitions throughout the city, and is “well on his way” to achieving the 450 registered voters’ signatures to force a primary Sept. 15.

Chaucer, a longtime city preservationist, lost the Democratic nomination at the party’s convention last week, by a vote of 81-9, to Economic Development Commission Chairwoman Genevieve Salvatore.

The deadline for Chaucer to certify the signatures is Aug. 12. The winner will take on four-term Republican Mayor James L. Richetelli Jr. and Milford Independent Party mayoral candidate Peter Spalthoff.

“I am working as hard as I can to get these signatures,” Chaucer said. “It’s not an easy task.”

Chaucer said he is committed to seeking a primary because he is the only candidate for “open government.”

“It’s what my campaign is all about,” Chaucer said. “An awful number of people are not convinced that everything is as it should be.”

Chaucer, who describes himself as a New England fiscal conservative, said he believes preserving the city’s character is vital.

“Milford can continue to be a tremendous tourist attraction,” Chaucer said.

Chaucer said he does not personally know Salvatore except that she is a practicing lawyer, and only recently became a registered Democrat. He also said her law firm has represented the “kind of interests” residents may not want in the mayor’s office, including large construction companies.

Salvatore said she’s had many clients and is “proud of each and every one of them.” She said she will not practice law if elected mayor, and vowed to run a “clean campaign.”

“I applaud both for their interest and their willingness to make the sacrifices necessary to run for the office. In the end, Genevieve earned a resounding victory,” said Democratic Town Chairman Richard Smith. “If Democrats are to win in November, it is now time we come together around the issues we believe in and the candidate we’ve selected.”

In 1987, Chaucer forced and won a primary, eventually getting a seat on the Planning and Zoning Board.

“I know Mr. Chaucer was talking about a primary and I understand that initial inclination. Still, knowing how important the issues are to Tim, I trust he will put aside his personal feelings and work for the good of our city and the Democratic Party. I look forward to having Tim’s help during this election,” Smith added.

Alan Jepson Retiring From City Clerk

There is no greater icon in town than our beloved city clerk Alan Jepson. For most of his life Jepson served the town of Milford in various offices, including the duty of our Mayor.

Jepsons retirement marks an end to over Twenty years of service as Milford's City Clerk. These memories are none the less fonder around this time of year, because on the 4Th of July Alan would dress the part of Uncle Sam at out town celebration and greet residents at the gazebo on the green. For the first time in many years the man under the beard and hat will be someone else, as Alan will not be doing it again.

Alan is at the age where he is ready for retirement, but those in the Independent Party here in Milford have stated that Jepsons retirement has also brought some challenges for those individuals who are seeking to replace him.

The job of City Clerk will be passed on, and some popular names are emerging as contenders for the post. The Democrats are expected to put up Currently Serving State Rep. Richard Roy. Roy, who has not formally announced he will retire from the the House if elected Clerk, has the option of holding both jobs. This will allow Roy to earn a salary estimated at $130,000.00 per year. This of course, also comes with benefits from the state as well as the city of Milford. This would make a Roy win a very lucrative proposition.

According to the Democrats, the position of City Clerk is "Settled" and they are expecting no Republican contender, this they indicated on their blog is the "tradition." Of course the blog post has been removed as of today, but none the less the allegation now stands and no known Republican contender exists yet.

The Independent Party in Milford, is questioning the the practice of "Cross Endorsements" and the practice of "holding multiple elected offices." Should someone like Dick Roy run for, and succeed in his bid for City Clerk the people of Milford could be denied the exclusivity of that office, instead sharing Mr. Roy with the state legislature if he fails to resign. The Independent Contender for City Clerk Michael Konopka has indicated he will give the people of Millford "110% of his attention," hence meeting the expectations of the job and the needs of the public.

This Democratic practice of "double dipping" was seen once before when Gubernatorial contender Jim Amann attempted to take a $120,000.00 job as the new CT House Speaker Donovan's assistant. This job was to be accomplished in tandem with his private sector job working as a fund raiser for a Charity and Running for Governor with the funds (3 Million Dollars) he expects to receive from a CEP grant.

Even though the city of Milford will miss our endeared City Clerk Alan Jepson, the voters need to be vigilant against the shenanigans of party politics here in town. The public pays the City Clerk very well for a reason. That reason has more to do with the fact that it is a full time job that demands a great deal of time and responsibility.

That responsibility also includes attending Board of Alderman meetings as Jepson did very well. Placing a person in this office, who also holds the job of a State Representative will surely find conflicts in his ability to attend the aldermanic meetings. This will also limit the amount of time he can spend at his desk in the Clerks office. The Clerk needs to be available to personally sign important documents, and this should be noted when discussion as to the individual candidates career choices arises and the condoning of absenteeism. They need not be the problem of Milford's Taxpayers.

Frank's Fundraiser and Open House This Sunday July 13th.

Meet and Greet Rocco J. Frank Jr. your local candidate for Connecticut State Representative. Frank has invited everyone in the 118Th district, that is the southern part of Milford, to include Walnut Beach, Devon, the Silver Sands Area, Lexington Green, Popes Island Residents and even the seniors at Baldwin Station.

The event will begin at 2:30P.M. and end at 6:00P.M., casual summer attire recommended. Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and relatives as well as any treats you wish to share with others. Kids welcome, and kids activities are also arranged in separate kids area.

The fundraising end of this event, is in accordance to the Connecticut Clean Elections program of which Frank Subscribes to. In order for Frank to receive a grant he must raise $5,000.00 from 150 Milford residents. Non residents can also donate, and children under the age of 18 can donate up to $30.00.
