No crumpets were served at a City Hall “Tea Party.” Instead, Republican candidates for Senate and Congress helped a crowd dish out a generous dose of anti-government, anti-Obama sentiments and campaign promises—while clashing with a gate-crasher.

About 60 demonstrators gathered outside City Hall Saturday morning to protest health care reform legislation at a “STOP ObamaCare Rally,” an event organized by the local chapter of a national movement pushing Republican candidates to the Glenn Beck right fringes of their party.

Local Residents "Shook Up" Over Neighborhood Murder

Zion Hill Road residents said Monday the gunshots that rang out Sunday night, marking the city’s first apparent killing this year, and the grisly discovery of a body that followed, have disturbed the calm of the secluded neighborhood in the city’s north end.

“I knew it wasn’t fireworks. It was just the sound, and the way they were fired. The deliberate way they were fired,” said the Zion Hill Road resident who placed the lone call alerting police to the slaying Sunday night.

“There were two shots, then a pause, then several more in quick succession.”

Police were still waiting Monday night for the state medical examiner to confirm the identity of the man who was found dead Sunday night on the side of Zion Hill Road with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police have tentatively identified the victim as a 28-year-old New Haven resident, but are waiting for confirmation from the medical examiner and notification of the victim’s family before releasing his identity.

A 2000 Honda Accord police believe was used by the victim was found on Newfield Avenue in Bridgeport Monday afternoon and is being forensically reviewed, police spokesman Officer Vaughan Dumas said.

Police were called to the area of Zion Hill and Wheeler’s Farms roads at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report of gunshots.

The man who called police after hearing eight to 10 gunshots said the discovery on the edge of his property was unsettling.

“You don’t want stray bullets flying around you,” said the Zion Hill Road resident, who declined to give his name.

The man said he called 911 after hearing loud noises that he was sure were gunshots.

He said he thought someone was taking shots at a deer and went to investigate after calling police. The Zion Hill Road resident wasn’t able to find anything.

The police who showed up quickly discovered a body about 5 feet off the road in a wooded area near the 911 caller’s property.

“It is a little nerve-racking finding a body basically on your property; this is not one of those things to take lightly. It really brings you up to modern times. It could happen anywhere and now it’s happened here,” the man said.

“Forensic evidence” was found near the body leading police to believe that the man was killed at or near where the body was found, police said.

Francis D. Amico, another Zion Hill Road resident, said he didn’t hear the gunshots and was unaware of the shooting until told by a reporter Monday.

He said young people sometimes drink on the street because it is so secluded with so few houses.

“But that’s been going on for the last 80 years,” Amico said.

He said he wasn’t fazed or made nervous at all by the apparent killing.

“The cops will take care of it and it’s none of my business,” Amico said.

The victim was not carrying identification, which contributed to the delay in making a positive identification.

He is described as a Hispanic male with a “chin-strap” style beard and short hair, police said.

He was 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 165 pounds, police said.

He was wearing a two-tone brown and beige long-sleeved shirt, denim jeans, a wide black belt, white Nike sneakers, and a two-tone hat, blue with a brown brim, Boston Red Sox hat.

His left hand had long fingernails, with an exceptionally long fingernail on his pinky, police said.

Police expect to release the victim’s name today.

Dead Mans Body Found On Zion Hill Rd. Milford

Police have tentatively identified a man shot to death in a wooded area by Zion Hill Road yesterday evening as a 28 year-old New Haven resident.

The man's name has not yet been released pending notification of his next-of-kin, police said this morning.

Investigators are asking the public for information about the shooting, including the car the victim was believed to have been driving, a 2000 tan Honda Accord, with Connecticut license plates 797 XNT.

The body of the Hispanic man was found shortly before 7:30 p.m. yesterday in a wooded area about 1,000 feet from the intersection with Wheeler's Farms Road. The site is not far from the High Street exit of Interstate 95. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

The fatal shooting is the first murder in Milford this year.

Police found the victim lying in a pool of blood after neighbors reported hearing numerous gun shots.

"There were a lot of shots," said Dee Anderson, who was visiting her best friend, Stacey Cerreta, on Century Lane, which fronts Zion Hill Road. "It sounded like firecrackers and I thought to myself, 'July 4 is over.' "

Tornado Warning Issued For Milford Area

The Connecticut Post has just issued a tornado warning for our area. The warning quoted, "has been issued for Northern New Haven County and Middlesex County until 4:30 p.m. Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Naugatuck."

Tornado warnings are a reality in this area, although none have caused any serious problems the video below captures a tornado that touched down in the Long Island Sound off the Milford coast line.

New Haven Tea Party Slows I95

The tea party held today, in New Haven CT slowed I95 to a crawl. At the event were all the major news stations, newspapers and yes of course over 1,000 disgruntled angry citizens fed up with excessive taxation, bank bailouts and the government practice of indebting the public.

The photo below is just a small section of the 1/4 mile strip of people who parked as far as IKEA to get to the event. The signs people were holding tell the-now common theme of taxation anxiety. Not too many people showed up to support the 3.6 trillion dollar Obama Budget, actually it was quite to the contrary every person I asked about the Obama budget was not only against it, but angry that our President would even suggest such a reckless irresponsible spending package. Many were also upset with the Tax cheats holding high office (I.e. Geitner) in the Obama administration, the AIG bailouts and also our incumbent senator Chris Dodd who will be most likely seeking a new job come next election.

The event was an amazing outpouring of people from all walks of life. The April 15th tax day protest was entirely organized by grass roots individuals through our entire country, and there were three major events held in Connecticut today, and several smaller events reported in Wilton and Greenwich. The other two larger events were held in Hartford, and New London and were equally well attended. The people have certainly spoken, and now it is up to our elected leaders to heed the call and demands of the people who elected them.

From Capitalism To Creditism Have We Lost Our Way?

The Federal Reserve System, a giant quasi-government privately owned corporation was empowered in 1913 under the Federal Reserve Act. The bill passed Christmas eve in the dark of night when many American Patriots were on Christmas vacation with their families.

Supporters argued that the Government is not suited to handle complex banking issues and would ultimately devalue the dollar and wreck the American economy. The irony today is monumental because from 1913 to today the system of credit to bankers for money has failed to the "N-Th" degree. If a dollar in 1913 bought a dollars worth, today that same dollar purchases about .02 Cents worth of 1913 goods.

This problem was the direct result of inflating the dollar supply and issuing credit to Americans who have lost a record amount of industry and productivity since then to now. Our entire economy rapidly moved from a manufacturing based economy to a service based economy where our nation is now dependent on slave labor from other nations who produce the inexpensive oil based products we love so much.

The crux today is that we have become completely dependent on credit in America, and of course I call this way of doing business "Creditism" where a majority of Americans cannot afford a home, a car, Furniture, a refrigerator, or stove. Bankers solved this problem for us with credit cards, consumer cards, and payment schedules that can drag on for 5-30 years.

As long as "Creditism" is alive and well and cheap affordable interest rates exist Americans continued to shop for new cars and invest in homes for profit. What we are seeing today in the global credit markets is the failure of these banks not only in America but across the world. Fear is rampant credit markets are frozen and investors are are scared.

The biggest fear is that Creditism is dead and now Capitalism is back, the party is over there is no borrowing money from foreign banks to live large off of small payments. Americans may now be forced into even greater productivity, and will need to reinvent the notion of trade and trust.

One thing I always believed is that in order for America to succeed in the world, and as a nation, we must take education seriously. Other nations, and especially China, graduate more scientists and engineers than the United States this poses what many experts have agreed is a "Brain Drain" that impacts the competitive nature of our country. Without a highly educated and skilled workforce America will be left in the dust globally. Big corporations, mostly those in science and technology here in America are increasing moving their companies off shore, or importing highly skilled workers from other parts of the world to solve their employee problems.

Without a highly educated and skilled workforce America could expect increased competition among unemployed workers for unskilled labor. This workforce, once more appreciated than today, does not yield the wages required to maintain the high standard of living that Americans were accustomed to. Moving into the next decade is going to be challenging, and without taking education in America seriously it will be even more difficult, if not impossible, to compete in the world wide global village that has been created.

Self serving bankers have historically steered clear of Capitalism. They still favor the concept of Creditism and it still continues to be promoted by the banks. Americans, many not knowing any better, embrace the idea that we can own things by borrowing money, paying interest and making payments on those items. Some may disagree but I personally believe that credit is the illusion of ownership, I dare call it a Ponzi scheme that caters to our consumer desires rather than the nurturing of sound economics. Sound economics being what Americans desperately need right now Savings, low credit card debt, more income, more education, and competitive skills to compete in the global economy. Until we make this as important as fighting the war on terror, than the growing group of despondent Americans will take to the streets in crime sprees to create an economy not based on productivity but criminal enterprising. This is something that any big city Mayor in Connecticut knows real well. This is something prison wardens know real well, and ignoring the millions of American's in prison, homeless and broke is not the answer.

Illegal Immigrant Worker' s Wait For Jobs In Norwalk

The illegal immigrant workforce, takes to the Norwalk streets daily. This event I witnessed last week as I traversed up Martin Luther King Blvd. There were about 50-100 people of what looked like Spanish descent waiting on the corner as if ready to jump in a passing truck; They looked ready to work in any craft from landscaping to construction.

Upon arrival to my destination to fix a computer I asked my customer A Mr. Yanni what was the scoop with all the people hanging out on the corner, I asked him the rhetorical question of what were they doing there? Just as I expected he gave me the answers, the same ones that have half the nation "ticked off" about, that they are all mostly illegal, undocumented, migrant workers preying on the desperation of small businesses desperate to increase their profits.

Many of them are going to your homes by way of your landscaper, stone mason or handyman. This problem has become perverse throughout our state and does not limit itself to just Norwalk. Mayor DiStefano has worked to grant these people ID's and Hartford has all but become a sanctuary city after the town council walked away from immigration issues, calling them the greater responsibility of the Federal Government.

Just as matters seemed to be as bad as things could be our secretary of state decided to run a campaign with Blumenthal to shore up the numbers of the Democratic party by registering as many people of all descents... many if not most being these federal "fast track" illegal immigrants.

While I am no objector to legal immigration a reminder of the correct way of achieving this is through acculturation and assimilation. That is that they intermarry, speak English, and lose over time their intense feeling of nationalism over the United States. In the exaggerated unregulated number that are present today America is building Hispanic nonspeaking ghettos who will soon evolve into a separatist group that will look to create their own special place in America that is not America. To explain what I mean imagine entire Spanish Speaking cities like Miami where America and its history becomes second to that of the supra nationals.

Something to think about while the rest of the U.S. border still goes unfunded, wide open and our leaders act as if they care but continue to take no action. Today's blog is yet again another reminder of the excuses and collusion at all levels of government in our state to enable the Federal Government and its policy of destroying our national borders under the premise that our state is helpless.

20 Year Old Dies In Milford Car Wreck

Late night at approximately 10:30P.M. a young woman whose name according to a witness, is presumed to be Jill Cowperthwaite, died in a high speed car accident last night. Officers on the scene indicated that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of her vehicle. Cowperthwaite was driving a 2002 Subaru.

According to our sources Jill, lived on High Street and was pronounced dead at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Passengers Megan Cook resides on Wildwood Avenue, Morgan Dion, on Mayflower Place, and Justin Novey, 21, on Crescent Drive, all were injured.

The accident took place on New Haven Avenue by the intersection of Buckingham Rd. near Jimmy's Pizza The driver was traveling northbound struck a utility pole and then was deflected into cars parked at the lot of Ace Automotive.

The accident damage was so severe that New Haven Avenue was still closed as of now, and police estimate it will remain closed late into tonight.

The police have not divulged any information regarding the specifics of this accident as it remains under investigation and are asking any witnesses to contact them with details of what they know or saw. The Milford PD office of Community Services can also be contacted for further information.

This marks yet another tragic loss due to what appears to be wreckless driving here in town. Our prayers are with the families and loved ones of these latest accident victims.

Moveon.org Addresses Rosa Delauro

Last Tuesday I received an E-Mail calling for an antiwar rally hosted by Moveon.org. The rally was to be held today in New Haven and directed at Rosa Delauro. There have been few details sent to me thus far about our Congresswoman's response to the rally, however I do plan on doing a follow up ASAP. (My immediate thought is that todays snow storm changed things.)

The nature of this Rally is to stop Pres. Bush from possibly invading Iran to save face in light of the intelligence report that indicates he has known Iran not to be a threat for nearly six months now. If these intelligence reports are in fact the gauge of accuracy we must remember the last intelligence fiasco in Iraq involving bogus threat assessment reports.

While peace is good, and most Americans want peace, we quite strangely ignore the only Presidential candidate who has a solid peace voting record and peace platform (Ron Paul). Instead, CFR'S and hawks like Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton seem to be getting all the voter support, money and attention.

Pardon me, if I offend anyone by saying that the less than reputable intelligence community has marred my and Mr. Bushes view on whether or not to believe any report/s. While no one wants a madman running loose with an atom bomb in the world, let alone America, I can certainly say that this is not one of those things that America can afford to screw up.

For now, I advocate peace with strong border protections and an awesome and unforgettable retaliatory response to any nation that dare tread on us. As for Iran I believe Russia, China, Israel and all its neighbors need to step up to the plate and defend their sovereignty against any would be aggressors or mad men.

Hopefully Rosa Delauro agrees with the Moveon.org crowd and takes any threats to the U.S. before congress (not Bush), so Americans can decide threats as a country for a change.

Bayer Aspirin, Formerly a NH CT Company in Big Trouble

This story just came to my attention today. It poses yet another egregious and dangerous abuse of corporate power for profit. This news clip is very alarming because no one would have known about these contaminated vaccines had an insider from Bayer not leaked the story.

Our leaders trusted to protect us from this type of malaise, did so partially by not allowing the vaccine to be sold or used in the U.S. However, Bayer and corporate greed proceeded to engage in a widespread cover up, and with our politicians permission was allowed to sell the vaccine in France and Japan where several authorities there found themselves incarcerated for the deliberate actions of Bayer's Greed.

This video is yet another example that there is no one looking out for health care in America, as a matter of fact it is quite to the contrary, we are looking out for the health of big corporations and profits, at the expense of ever increasing bankruptcies, malpractice deaths, and Americans without proper coverage.

Politician and ComputerFox, Volunteer Services to Circle of Care.

ComputerFox, a Connecticut-based computer repair chain, has volunteered its computer repair services to Circle of Care, an in-house hospital program that offers support to families with children with cancer. Circle of Care services families in the Yale Medical Center and others.

ComputerFox is headed by Milford businessman Rocco J. Frank, Jr., who saw this as another great way to reach out to those who really needed help. Frank has a long history of offering his computer services to those in need. He currently operates a free computer recycling program and a free refurbished computer program for those who are on public assistance and can not afford to buy their own.

“Circle of Care provides ComputerFox with a unique opportunity to help sick children and their families,” said Frank. So far, ComputerFox has volunteered several hours of their computer repair services and some computer parts. “We estimate that the initial repair of the organization’s laptops is the equivalent of over $1,000 worth of parts and services,” said Frank.
Volunteering began with the repair of all of the organizations laptop computers, but that was only the beginning. ComputerFox will also maintain the computers indefinitely through the use of an employee who will become a volunteer, absolutely free of charge.

“I have four precious children of my own,” said Frank, “and would really appreciate any help if something ever happened to one of them.” Circle of Care offers support for families with cancer through an in-hospital program and telephone peer support. Also, the laptop computers are also offered to families in need.

Rocco J. Frank, Jr., CEO of ComputerFox is also running for office in 2008, as an Independent candidate for State Representative for the 118th District of Connecticut, which includes Milford and Devon. He hopes that his goodwill toward all, even those outside his voting district like Circle of Care, translates into something great for everyone in Connecticut.
